Photo by Lydia Baera Eileen Sheets celebrated her 103rd birthday Friday at LuAnn Nursing Home in Nappanee. Here, she spends time with her daughter and son-in-law, Norma and John Personett of Nappanee.

Lifelong Nappanee resident turns 103 By Lydia Beers Staff Writer NAPPANEE The wind and snow didn't stop Eileen Sheets from celebrating her birthday last Friday. The now 103-year-old Nappanee resident opened cards and received flowers from her friends at LuAnn Nursing home, where she has lived for the past three years. When asked, Sheets said that the secret to a long life is "goodness." Sheet's daughter, Norma Personett, said that Friday was just a preliminary shindig the family planned to get together later that week and have a bigger celebration, also at the nursing home.
