Cathy Ann Roseberry May 23, 1949 Nov. 30, 2011 VALPARAISO Cathy Ann Roseberry, 62, of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30,2011, at the VNA Hospice Center. She was bom May 23,1949, in Plymouth, to Henry E. and Mildred E. (Heidel) Sahlhoff and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1967. Cathy had been a purchasing agent with Rexam Beverage Can Company for 37 years through many transitions. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Wanatah where she served as organist for more than four decades. Through all the years her family and her music continued to be the focus of her passion. Survivors include her children: Wendy (Elliott) Correll of Nappanee, Nicole (Sean) Siewin of Valparaiso, Matthew Roseberry (Julie McKean) of Valparaiso, and Rachel (Zachary) Sliwa of Valparaiso; brother, Carl (Kathleen) Sahlhoff of Eau Claire, Wis.; sisters: Carol (Timothy) Earle of LaCrosse and Cindy (Charles Jr. "Bub") Patrick of San Pierre; grandchildren: Morgan May and Bo Henry Correll and Lucas and Isaac Siewin. A funeral service was held Monday 11 a.m. CST at St. John's Lutheran Church, 15496 S. 900 W., Wanatah, Rev. Joel S. Zipay officiating with burial following at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Camp Mack Road, Milford, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 8:55 a.m. at her residence from natural causes. She was bom Sept. 4,1924 in Nappanee to Leßoy and Ruth Yenna Holloway. She loved flowers, traveling, | camping, and going up to Michigan with friends and family to snowmobile. Ruby had traveled with her husband to Alaska for six weeks to celebrate their anniversary of 50 years. She married Lawrence "Bud" Sawyer Dec. 6, 1944 in Nappanee. He survives along with daughters Connie (Steve) Schermerhom, New Paris, Roxann (Tom) Monhaut, Goshen; son Kent (Ann) Sawyer, Milford; grandchildren: Matthew Monhaut, Kristy (John) Ambrosea Mandy (Casey) Whitney, and Luke Sawyer; and great-grandson, Hunter Ambrosen. Friends and family called Friday, Dec. 2, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and also one hour prior to the funeral service, which was Saturday, at 10:30 a.m., at Nappanee Church of the Brethren. POUCE NOTES Speed, conditions blamed for accident ELKHART Speed and weather conditions were said to be the cause of an accident that happened on U.S. 20 in Elkhart Nov. 29. Christina Geyer, 20, Nappanee, was driving a 2006 Chrysler 300 east on U.S. 20 at 5:04 p.m. when her vehicle slid left of the center median, south across the eastbound lanes and then down an embankment, coming to rest against a fence at the bottom. Geyer was taken to the hospital for pain in her wrists and cited for driving while suspended and given a written warning for driving faster than weather conditions required. Three burglars arrested ELKHART Officers from the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department apprehended three burglars who had allegedly broken into at least three homes Dec. 1 in Elkhart County. George L. Sanks, 19; Versean M. Murry, 18; and Tyler Deyong, 18, were taken to the Elkhart County Correctional facility. Earlier, at 11:46 a.m. the three had approached Julie Wold's house on C.R. 24 in Elkhart and after they knocked and did not gain entry, then went into the home and removed items while Wold was hiding and called 911. The men were found to be linked to an attempted burglary in the 4000 block of Basswood Drive in Goshen (where homeowner Ryan Chupp prevented them from forcing their way into the home) and in the 50000 block of C.R. 9 in Elkhart (where the homeowner had returned home and called police).
