'This team is a completely different one, and our motivation is to be as good as we can be by the end of the year. So far in practice I've seen tremendous improvement."

Though they now sell 399 other kinds of candy McNally said that candy wasn't the central attraction to the The Wakarusa Dime Store when they first acquired it, and that the nostalgia brands they now offer are the hardest to come by. Altogether, Wolfe likes what the Panthers bring to the table. "Our team has some depth but it's veiled in inexperience," Wolfe said. "I feel it's a team that has a great chance to improve throughout the season." That improvement has to come with good practice habits. "Our preparation and practices

I love the holidays, pretty much all of them but Halloween is my very favorite, followed by Christmas. My first holiday headache comes from seeing Christmas items on the shopping shelves before Halloween. I don't want
to see any jingle bells, furry hats or candy canes until I'm shopping for green beans for Thanksgiving or boots to replace the ones my children grew out of ffie year before.

might be the most important thing we do this year, because each day is such a learning experience," Wolfe said. "The quicker we can improve, the more success we'll see on game night." Equally important is the guidance provided by the Panthers' elder statesmen. "For the most part, this is the first time a lot of our players have played on the same team together, because of the wide ranges in grades," Wolfe said. "Our leadership out of our veterans is imperative, and they've done a great job stepping up to the challenge."

I don't want to hear carols; I don't want to see Christmas trees, nor want to see snow. There will be plenty of time to attend to all that while picking through leftover turkey scraps or licking that last fluff of Cool Whip off my fork. What I do want to see are deals. Deals well before the dreaded Black Friday. Yes, there is a reason for the biggest shopping day of the year, but hiking prices the beginning of November so the store can claim "door-busting deals!" the day after Thanksgiving isn't impressive to me. Just once 1 would like the planet to join together in avoiding shopping altogether until Dec. 6 or so and you'll see discount coupons, BOGO and sale tags like you've never seen.
