North Wood honors legends Carter and Weaver
By Stkvs Smut Correspondent NAPPANEB —In keeping with the theme of "Senior Night" the North Wood Panthers honored two legendary figures dud have been a part of North Wood football since before the school even existed. Public address announcer Bryan Carter, who has been at die mic for 45 years, and chain-gang member Doug Weaver who spent 50 years on the sidelines, began their careers working for the Nappanee Bulldogs, and both are retiring at die completion of this season. Weaver, known as "Doug the Plug" for his ability to plug holes as an offensive lineman for Nappanee, graduated from high school in 1962 and joined the chain

CROSS COUNTRY (GIRLS) Medina advances at Elkhart Central Regional Cynthia Medina earned an individual berth to the New Ha' ?n Girls Cross Country Semistate with a fifth-place finish at the Elkhart Central Regional Saturday. While Medina advanced with a time of 19:32, North Wood finished two places shy of a team semistate berth with a 179 in seventh place at Oxßow Park, and Bremen's girls finished out their cross country season with a lOth-place 230 score at the Elkhart Central Regional Saturday.
