Maxine Hershberger Oct 16, 2011 - NAPPANEE Maxine (Wddy) Hershberger, 95, died Sunday, Oct 16,2011, at the home of her daughter/caregiver Sharon Balyeat, White Pigeon, Midi., formerly of Nappanee. Surviving are daughters: Carolyn (Glenn) Miller, Shipshewana, Mary Ellen (Richard) Millet; Westover Md., Sharon (Keith) Balyeat, White Pigeon, Mich., and Rose Herschberger (Mike) Gross, Shipshewana; daughter-in-law, Rosa Hershberger Elkhart; son, Wilbur (Elizabeth) Hershberger, Goshen; 26 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchil-dren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation was 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pjn. Tuesday, Oct 18 at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Huff Oct 14, 2011 NAPPANEE Phyllis J. Cltowbridge-Quillen) Huff, 84 Nappanee, died Friday, Oct. 14 at 4:28 a.m. at Bremen Healthcare Center. She is survived by her husband, Devoe Huff; sons, Michael Quillen, Fort Wayne, and Arthur (Jan) Quillen, Wheatfield; three grandchildren; sisters, Norma (Ray) Hite, Plymouth, and Lou Dell Bollinger; Fredericksburg. Lillian Walters Oct. 10, 2011 ELKHART Lillian Walters, 101, of Elkhart, died Oct. 10, 2011 in Englewood, Fla. She is survived by a daughter, Donna (Ray) Copsey of Elkhart; sons Phillip (Nancy) Snyder of Englewood, Fla. and John (Carol) Snyder of Veedersburg; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Willis Herrick of Kendallville. Visitation was Friday, Oct. 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Waterman Westbrook Qouse Funeral Home. Funeral service was Saturday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial took place at Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee. Memorials may be made to the YWCA or First United Methodist Church. Waterman Westbrook Qouse Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Pumpkin, from front heal itself." A tally at the end of the day showed 214 people of all ages came to hear Norman speak, be entertained, and learn some of his skills. Norman also demonstrated more creativity when it came to lighting his jack-o'-lantem by using condiment portions cups (dear; with lids) to pop into eye "sockets" he drilled out and then a flashlight through the bottom of the pumpkin to illuminate it. Norman said he has done about 50 to 60 shows in seven different states and this Nappanee crowd was his biggest beating a show in Logansport that brought 125 to see his creative art form in one day.

Shirley L. Perry Feb. 4,1929-Oct 13, 2011 WAKARUSA Shirley L. Perry, 82, Wakarusa, died at 8:45 ajß. Thursday Oct 13,2011 at Elkhart General Hospital.

She was bom Feb. 41929 to Warren and Emma (Hoffer) Blosser in Foraker. She married Lowell Hahn Aug. 2ft 1948 and he died Sept 16, 1993; she married Kenneth Perry Jan. 23, 1997 and he survives. Also surviving are daughters: Sue (Scott) Buss, Wakarusa, Nancy (Darrell) Boettger Lake Wales, Fla., and Cathy (David) Fox, Wakarusa; sons, Michael (Brenda) Hahn and Dennis (Margaret) Hahn, both of Goshen; stepdaughters,

Gayle Perry, Mishawaka and Kim Perry, Wakarusa; stepsons, Tom (Gina) Perry, Chicago, 111. and Jim (Deb) Perry, Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her first husband, Lowell; sister; Violet Herr; and three brothers: Robert, .Arlo, and Earl Blosser. Shirley was a graduate of New Paris High School, a member of the Baugo Church of tire Brethren and a homemaker. Visitation was 2 to 6 pm. Powell, 22, Nappanee, was arrested Oct. 12 by the Nappanee Police Department for driving while suspended and criminal mischief. • Charles S. Norman, 46, Nappanee, was arrested Oct. 15 by the Elkhart County Sheriff's (Department for operating while intoxicated. • Brandon P. Tom, 31, Wakarusa, was arrested Oct. 16 by the Millersburg Police Department for operating while intoxicated. Two new ECSD officers GOSHEN—The newest corrections officers for the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department took their oaths Tuesday Oct. 4 2011 and officially begin their service. The swearing in was at 3 p.m. in Circuit Court in Goshen, with officers accepting the oath from Judge Terry Shewmaker. New officers are: • Corrections Officer Ty Cooper, .* .graduate ,of Goshen High School. He is currently enroUecfin four years in the United States Marine Corps. - • Corrections Officer Justin Shoopman, a graduate of Fairfield High School and continued studies at Indiana University, Bloomington.
