Ryan Mishler (R-Bremen), left. Mishler said the Senate page program helps connect students with state government arid often piques the interest of young people about key issues, sometimes energizing them to consider public service themselves. Many paging slots for the 2011 session are already filled, but Mishler encouraged those interested in participating to call 1-800-382-9467.
NAPPANEE Spring Break Getaway sign-ups due today Gather your friends and sharpen your motor skills for the library's annual Spring Break Getaway April 6-7. Kids in grades K-5 will compete in team challenges similar to those seen on the popular game show "Minute to Win It." Cheer your teammates on at "Stack Attack" and watch your pals heat up the competition at "Card Ninja." "Blueprints" for a selection of the games are on display at the library for those who want to "train" in advance. Space is limited, and all participants must register by March 31. Book club will meet April 10 Read along with the Cover to Cover Book Club, which will meet April 10 from 2-4 p.m. to discuss "The Help" by Kathryn Stocked. The Cover to Cover Book Club meets at the library on the second Sunday of each month. WAKARUSA No Story Hour next week Due to the Wa-Nee School Corporation spring break, no Story Hour will take place on April 4-5. Accepting donations Beginning April 1, the Friends of the Wakarusa Library will accept donations of video tapes, DVDs, CDs, books on CD and books for their annual book sale to be held April 15-16. These items can be brought to the library during regular hours. Tax forms available April 18 is Tax Day. The library still has federal and state tax forms available in the entryway of the library. Some forms are available in reproducible copies, ask at the front desk. Books given in memory "The Good Housekeeping Cookbook" by Susan Westmorland and "Garden to Vase: Growing and Using Your Own Cut Flowers" by Linda Beutler are given in memory of Faustine Miller-Moore by Mary Jane Lantz and Susan Lantz. Dial-A-Story is 'The Golden.Touch' "The Golden Touch" is the story beginning April 1. This is the story of King Midas and the lesson he learns. Hear this tale at 574-862-4441.
