Nov. 24, 2010 NAPPANEE Ray J. Burkholder, 83, of Nappanee, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, at his residence, after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife, Barbara S. Burkholder of Nappanee; daughters, Cary Lynn (Marvin) Hochstetler of Nappanee and Norma Sue Burkholder of Edwaidsburg, Mich.; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Visitation was Thursday, Nov. 25 and all day Friday, Nov. 26 at the family's home. Services were at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27 at the David Borkholder residence. Burial was at Borkholder Cemetery. Stalnaker, 88, of Nappanee, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010 at 1:40 a.m. at Elkhart General Hospital. _ He is survived by sons, Scott (Jessie) Stalnaker of Jacksboro, Tenn. and John (Mary) Stalnaker of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation took place from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee. Funeral services took place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Fuller Nov. 29, 2010 NAPPANEE Joyce A. Fuller, 81, of Nappanee, died Monday, Nov. 29,2010 at Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart. She is survived by a son, Timothy (Kina) Fuller of Nappanee; daughter, Linda Nihart of Little Rock, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Arden Tusing of Marion; and a sister, Dorothy Amsden of Texas. Visitation took place from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2 at Thompson-Lengacher k Yoder Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee. Funeral services took place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3 at the funeral home. Burial followed at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Julie Anna Grace Kuhns weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 22 inches long. She was welcomed home by siblings Matthew, Melvin, James, Marlin, and Jay Lynn. Maternal grandparents are William and Dina Bontrager, Millersbuig. Paternal grandparents are Noah and Rachel Kuhns, Nappanee. Dijkstra, cont. from Front Department to accept the title of chief. The officer has served in the chief deputy role since 2003. "We are losing and you are gaining one good officer," said Mike Books, Elkhart County Sheriff as he recently addressed the Nappanee Board of Public Works and Safety. Dijkstra's law enforcement career began in 1985. She has served as jail officer, patrol officer, and both lieutenant and captain in administrative services. The officer was assigned to inmate housing areas; overseen preliminary investigation of both crimes and traffic crashes; and served various administrative services.
