Bremen Junior Football * Photos submitted The Bremen Junior Football sixth-grade team traveled to Rochester Oct 23, and scored a 36-8 win with touchdowns from Andrew Smith, Shane Slavey, Matt Box and Carson LaGuardia, and two-point conversion kicks from Wil Rogers and Nathan Ervin. The next day, Bremen hosted Edwardsburg at Don Bunge Field. Bremen gotTDs from LaGuardia (2) and Smith (1) and a two-point kick by Ervin for a 20-0 victory. The Bremen defense held Edwardsburg to negative yardage in the second half. Planning ahead for winter
The first snowflakes of the season have already fallen, providing us with a preview of coming attractions. Though we do not know how bad this winter will be, we do know cold, snow or freezing rain events will cause problems in our daily lives. Indiana ranks No. 8 in the country for the number of grease and cooking fires on Thanksgiving Day, according to claims figures from State Farm Insurance. More cooking fires occur on Thanksgiving than any other day of the year. According to claims data from 2005-2009, grease and cooking-related claims more than double on Thanksgiving Day compared to an average day in November.
