"We played a lot of tough teams at the beginning of die year, but we're slowly getting better," Heeter said. "We have 11 seniors on the team, so it's nice that we've all
grown up and played together. We have great chemistry, now we just have to focus on winning games, especially against the good teams." After graduation next spring, Heeter would like to pursue a career in either marine biology or psychology. "It's kind of up in the air right now," Heeter said. "I'm just keeping my options open."
This project includes the relocation and abandonment of an existing 4 inch water line on the north side of US 6 with a new 12 inch water line on the south side of US-6. This relocation will be between Elm Street (Sta. 3+75) and Miriam Street (Sta. 39+98), a total distance of 3,623 feet. The work will include reconnection of all services from the existing 4 inch line to the new 12 inch water main. The existing 4 inch line will be abandoned in place which will require cutting, cap-
ping and restraining. Six (6) new hydrants will be installed along the new 12 inch line at a spacing of approximately 600 feet. One (1) new hydrant will be installed using a tapping sleeve and valve on an existing 10 inch line. The seven (7) existing hydrant removed shall be delivered to the City. Three (3) new gate valves (2-12 inch and 1 - 8 inch) will be installed, tapping sleeve and valve connections to existing lines and one 8 inch (20 inch steel casing) bored crossing under US-6 and lines to be disconnected from the existing abandoned 4 inch line. These connections will be made at Elm Street, Hartman Street, Summit Street, Jackson Street, Morningside Drive (bore for 8 inch water line and 4 inch TS&V), and Miriam Street. The work will include removal of all side walk along the south side of US-6 and construction of new 6 foot wide sidewalk on the south side of US-6. There is an Alternate Bid Item for an additional 2 feet of sidewalk width from Station 10+84 to 16+08. The sidewalk will be adjacent new curb constructed and constructed under this contract. The INDOT work by others will include construction of handy capped sidewalk ramps at all cross streets. The sidewalk construction under this contract shall be done after the radius curbs and handy capped ramp construction is completed under the INDOT resurfacing project. Restoration of all disturbed areas and removed items shall also be a part of this project work; top soil, seeding and mulching, driveway and private sidewalk replacement and other items necessary to complete the area restoration. Approved performance and payment bonds guaranteeing faithful and proper performance of the work and materials, to be executed by an acceptable surety company, will be required of the Contractor at the time he executes his contract. The bonds will be in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price and must be in full force and effect for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of acceptance of and final payment for the work. Each proposal must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the title of the Project and the name and address of the Bidder. Under Section 111 of Form 96 the Bidder shall submit a financial statement. A copy of the proposed Financial Statement to be submitted with the Bid is included in the Bid Proposal Documents Section of these Specifications. The OWNER may make such investigations as deemed necessary to determine the ability of the Bidder to perform the work, and the Bidder shall furnish to the OWNER all such information and data for this purpose as the OWNER may request. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any Bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigation of such Bidder fails to satisfy the OWNER that such Bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the Agreement and to complete the work contemplated therein. Each Bidder is responsible for inspecting the Project site and for reading and being thoroughly familiar with the Contract Documents, Specifications and Plan Sheets. The failure or omission of any Bidder to do any of the foregoing shall in no way relieve any Bidder from any obligation in respect to its Bid.
