Edna Berline (Wcygand) Lutes Ante 19,1909 July 16, 2010 AUBURN Edna Berline (Weygand) Lutes, 101, passed away Friday, July 16,2010 a Betz Nursing Home, Auburn. Bom in Nappanee June 19,1909, she was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed sewing, knitting, and quilting. She was a member of the Nappanee United Methodist Church. She graduated from Nappanee High School as die salutatorian of the class of 1927. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Eugene) Zahner of Auburn; three grandchildren: Beverly (Bill) Pazder of Fort Wayne, Craig (Mona) Zahner of Garrett and Regina (Glenn) Roon of Auburn; eight greatgrandchildren: Eric and Jared Pazder, Corey, Chelsea, Jesse, Jacquelyne and Aubrey
City rebuilding CR 7; alternate routes suggested
This fall the City of Nappanee will be rebuilding County Road 7. The Nappanee Water Utility began preliminary work for this project Monday, July 12. The area involved covers County Road 54 and continues north along County Road 7 to County Road 150. Limited access will also be maintained to Heritage Farms, Heritage House, Anglemeyer Clinic, Callandar Sportsplex, and the Nappanee Municipal Golf Course. She sustained a few "rashes" when she dove for the fly balls, but laughed it all off in the name of fun. Saturday morning rolled around with clear skies and dry weather, unlike last year's event, to welcome participants in the six-mile and 30-mile Memorial Bicycle Ride events that began at Stauffer Park. Bicyclists came in droves to participate in die ride that promotes bicycle safety and which commemorates the lives of three bicyclists who were killed riding to work. Kenneth Miller and Lester Newswanger lost their lives in 2007, and Eric Helmuth, in 2008. Fem Mullet, who serves on the bicycle ride committee, is a relative to Miller and Helmuth, one of die reasons she serves with the group who organize the ride. As die garage sales came.to a close, the

brothers: Ray, Charles, Robert and James Weygand. Funeral services took place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20 at Thompeon-Lengacher k Yoder Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee with calling one hour prior. Burial followed at Stony Point Cemetery, Nappanee. Memorial contributions may be made to the Betz Nursing Home, Auburn.

Nappanee Firefighters went into full overdrive, preparing for the hundreds of delicious Jonah Fish Fry meals served up to hungry townspeople on the green outside Nappanee City Government Building. A free Concert on the Green took place from 6 to 8 p.m. in which His Way II performed its southern gospel ministry and Steve Helmuth provided Rocket Science Ice Cream. Friends enjoyed the shade, the refreshing evening breeze, and concluded the weekend's events that continued to reinforce the unique flavor of Nappanee where there's always something fun to encourage residents and visitors alike to "Embrace The Pace."
