Pacesetter of the Week account manager for Ferrellgas out of Fort Wayne, a company that's been serving homes, business and agricultural propane needs nationwide for 70 years. Ferrellgas prides itself on being a good neighbor to the nearly 1 million customers it serves. As the go-to guy for Nappanee area propane customers, Read knows farmers use a lot of propane for drying crops. That's why Ferrellgas' pricing is a plus. "Ferrellgas goes out of their way to make this as affordable as possible with great pricing programs," he said. "We have a customer-owned tank program where we will meet or beat any local competitors' price. Just call me and I take it from there." Anita Munson, Editor Quilt Garden looking for ‘seed money’ Those artful volunteers- who will be planting the Nappanee Quilt Garden near McCormick Golf Course more than 8,000 seeds to go into die ground, mind you! need some, pardon the pun, "seed money" for associated materials like fertilizer and mulch. The plants are being paid for by the Elkhart County Convention and Visitors' Bureau. The volunteers from The Artful Quitters Guild have designed and stitched up a 36-inch square wall hanging of their One Room School House design based on the historic Culp School House, circa 1873-1952, to raffle off to a lucky winner, with proceeds going to the "seed money" fund for the Quilt Garden. Pretty clever, we'd say, and a beautiful reminder of the dedication to the project. Tickets are $1 each, or six for $5 and mav be purchased from the

The company also uses wily sustainable paper sources for its advertisements and mailers, preferring to use e-mail whenever possible. Read's experience and knowledge of the propane industry also means agricultural, commercial and residential customers know they'll get the best information possible from Ferrellgas. The company was founded in 1939 in Atchison, Kan., and has become the premiere propane provider in the country.
