Kenneth P. BemlHer May 22, 2009 ELKHART Kenneth P. Bemiller, 77, of Elkhart (winter resident of Melbourne Beach, Fla.) died Friday, May 22 at 11:50 p.m. at home. He is survived by his wife, Ruth A. Bemiller; son, Kent L. (Lynette) Bemiller of Elkhart; daughters: Ronda K. (Steve) Hunsberger of Goshen and Renay A. Bemiller of Elkhart; four grandchildren; two great-grandchil-dren; brothers: Max (Rosina) Benjjjtier of Bristol, Tim (Connie) Bemiller of Palm Bay, Fla. and Alert (Mary) Bemiller of Elkhart. She is survived by her husband, Willard A. "Bill" Zentz; sons: Vem Allen Zentz of Nappanee and Denny Zentz of Nappanee; daughters: Dianne (Charles) Crum of Elkhart, JoAnn (Denny) Hart of Bourbon and Kay (Jerrv) Riegsecker of Wakarusa; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; and sisters: Donna Ealer of Tucson, Ariz. and Bonnie Plassman of Napolean, Ohio. Visitation was Thursday, May 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home and one hour prior to services. Funeral services were Friday, May 29 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial was at South Union Cemetery. Donna J. Devan May 26, 2009 NAPPANEE Donna J. Devan, 66, of Nappanee died Tuesday, May 26 at 10:15 p.m. at Hospice House, South Bend. She is survived by a daughter, Pam (Shean) Strong of Nappanee; son, Tom (Tammy) Devan of Apple Valley, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sister, Joy (Pat) Ameling of Bremen and brother, Richard (Laura) Krick of Goodrich, Mich. . There was no visitation. Cremation took place. Memorial services were at Biblical Church of Acts, Wakarusa Saturday, May 30 at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to Hospice House. New owner, new direction for New To You
By Mandy McFarland Editor WAKARUSA While the business will keep its name, New To You has a new owner, who plans to take the store in a new, more specific direction. Instead of carrying stacks of clothes for all ages, owner Sharia Weldy's focus is to supply clothing, books, toys and a few other items for kids. The store carries all sizes, from infants to girls size 15/16 and boys size 20. So far Weldy has 96 consigners who have a variety of clothes and shoes ready to sell. But just because she has that many does not mean she is not always

Now, the Wa-Nee area has attracted the attention of national news station MSNBC, which has decided to make the two towns the latest focus of their Web special, "The Elkhart Project." NAPPANEE A musical adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson's "The Princess and the Pea," "Once Upon a Mattress" began putting both OffBroadway and Broadway audiences under its spell in 1959. Now after 50 years, a London production, several revivals, tours, film adaptations and countless regional, community and high school productions, "Once Upon a Mattress" will materialize on The Joseph Stein Stage Tuesday, June 2. "Once Upon a Mattress" opened off-Broadway May 11, 1959 at the Phoenix Theatre. It would be transferred to Broad way later that year, finally settling in at the St. James Theatre for 460 performances. "Mattress" would go on to receive Tony nominations for Best
