ADVANCE NEWS PHOTO/MANDY MCFARLAND Firefighters pile burned insulation and debris in the front yard of the Zentz house in Nappanee. The second floor of the house caught fire last Wednesday morning. Though the house was not destroyed, smoke and water damage will prevent the family from returning for a while.
FIRE continued from front page the blaze under control in about an hour. The room was severely damaged, while the rest of the house sustained smoke and water damage. While the Zentz family may not be able to return home for a while, family, friends and neighbors were not hesitant to offer a place for them to stay. The house was not far from the path of the Oct. 18 tornado and narrowly missed being destroyed. PHOTO PROVIDED/ ANDY KARNES Smoke pours from the second floor window of the Zentz home. While the upstairs was badly damaged, the fire was determined to be an accident and the family will be able to return once smoke and water damage have been repaired.
