Services still available for tornado victims VICTIMS FUND In response to the need of the victims of the Oct. 18 tornado, the executive committee overseeing the long-term recovery of the City of Nappanee and the surrounding areas has created the Nappanee Tornado Victims Assistance fund. Donors may make checks out to the Nappanee Tornado Victims Assistance and send them to Nappanee Tornado Victims Assistance, P.O. box 29 Nappanee, IN 46550. Donors may also stop by Lake City Bank in Nappanee to make a donation. Contributions by VISA or Master Card are welcome at www. elkhartccf.org. All contributions are tax deductible and contributors will receive a receipt from the Elkhart County Community Foundation. One hundred percent of all donations will go to help tornado victims. ITEM DONATIONS The Hope Crisis Response Network is no longer calling for donations of items like batteries, flashlights, paper products and so forth. However, they still welcome monetary donations care of the City of Nappanee. MISSING PETS Those who are still missing pets following the tornado can call Nature's Way, 269-483-7355. Pets will be kept for 30 days following their capture or until they are claimed. VOLUNTEER CENTER The Hope Crisis Response Network (HCN) has set up a volunteer center at the Nappanee Missionary Church in the Youth Ministry Center (YMC) in the south side of the parking lot. Those interested in volunteering may call the church at 773-7773. The center is open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The HCN is no longer requesting donations of items but monetary donations are still welcome. T-SHIRTS Nappanee tornado T-shirts and sweatshirts are still available at the Nappanee Area Chamber of Commerce (address), Nappanee city hall (address) and the Nappanee police department (address). Those interesting in purchasing a T-shirt or sweatshirt may call the Nappanee Public Library at 773-7919. Order forms are also available at www.nappanee.org and www.nappaneechamber.com. •At approximately 10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, a 1999 Pontiac Grand AM, driven by Nathan O. Miller, 18, of Lagrange, was southbound north of C.R. 34 was traveling south on C.R. 37. John Miller and his wife Luetta and daughter were traveling east in their buggy. Vehicle one stopped at a stop sign then proceeded through the intersection, hitting the horse and causing the buggy to flip over. Driver one stated that he did not see the buggy. He sustained no injuries. Driver two complained of ankle pain following the accident. •At approximately 12:18 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country van westbound on Hively Avenue, driven by Sandy Morgan, 58, of Elkhart, failed to stop at a four-way stop sign. At the same time a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Ptl. Mike Wass of Goshen, was stopped at the stop sign. Vehicle two continued northbound on Oakland Ave. and vehicle one hit it on the passenger side door. Morgan was cited for disregarding a stop sign and expired registration. Neither driver sustained injuries.

MUSICAL TEUS STORY FROM ANGEL'S ANGLE Choirs of heavenly angels in Roblin - and a large cast and crew - have been working hard for the opportunity of inviting the community to share in the Christmas Story. Bert McCutcheon, pastor at Roblin Wesleyan Church is co-directing (with Dyan McKeown) the 25th annual Living Christmas Tree, started by his mother Myma. This year's offering is a musical, From Heaven's Throne, written by David T. Clydesdale.

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SEEKING TOWN'S SUPPORT TO RAISE FUNDS FOR MATCHING GRANT Dale Monisey Napanee Guide Time is running out for the Napanee District Community Foundation to come up with $50,000 to get the most out of an anonymous donor who promised to match dollar for dollar money raised by the foundation, up to $50,000 by the end of 2007. The Eromise was made in June and the group as been working hard since. Now, as crunch time nears the decision has been made to approach Greater Napanee Council for $20,000 to help the group meet their fundraising target. So far the group has pulled in $23,000 in donations and pledges

Students at the school took part in the annual Jingle Bell Walk which combined fitness with giving. In exchange for a donation to the food bank students were given a jingle bell they could wear or hold while taking part in a 20-minute walk around the school. Thursday's event brought in over 120 items for the food bank.
