Advance News still seeking stories The Advance News will continue seeking firsthand accounts from Nappanee residents, business owners, workers and anyone else affected by the Oct. tornado. The stories, due by Nov. 23, do not need to be elaborate. We are simply looking for individuals willing to share what they experienced during and after the storm. We will be willing to help with wording, style, etc. We are also seeking photos of the tornado's aftermath. Anyone willing to send in photos may do so to advance@npcc. net or bring them to our office at 158 W Market St. All photos must be accompanied with a brief caption stating where the photo was taken and naming any individuals who appear in the photo and a brief summary of what is taking place in the photo (the roof was blown off of the house, volunteers dear away debris, and so forth). Kauffman, 51, Nappanee, disregarding an auto signal, $120.50 At approximately 10:48 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 Nappanee police officers responded to a call on Heather Boulevard regarding an argument. When they arrived they discovered John Freshour, 38, at the residence after the property owner had told him to leave. Freshour allegedly showed signs of intoxication. Police arrested him and charged him with trespassing and public intoxication. While in a holding cell at the Nappanee police department, Freshour became disorderly, and was further charged with disorderly conduct. His bond was $4,500. His scheduled court date was Wednesday, Oct. 31 at the Nappanee city court. NOV. 7 ' At approximately 3:28 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7 Nappanee police received a call from a security guard at Fairmont Homes stating that two male subjects had driven past Franklin Coach twice then parked behind the business, exiting their vehicle with flashlights and entering the buildings. After sweeping the area, officers discovered Brian M. Banasiewics, 21, of Mishawaka and Joseph Kozakiewicz, 21, of South Bend in the plant on the north side of the property. According to reports, they had several items of Franklin Coach property in their possession. The subjects admitted that they had come to Franklin Coach for "scrapping." Police took inventory of their vehicle and discovered several items stoker from construction sites throughout Mishawaka. . “*> Police charged the subjects with burglary and possession of stolen property. TJte subjects were taken to the Elkhart County jail. NOV. 11 At approximately 12:18 a.m. Nappanee .police officers received a call from the Shamrock Inn. When they arrived they discovered Don C Gonzalez, 31, standing by the road.
Reports state that Gonzalez was intoxicated and became belligerent. Officers arrested him and charged Turn with public intoxication and resisting law enforcement. His bond was $3,000 and his court date was Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. at the Nappanee city court.

Veterans Day ADVANCE NEWS PHOTOS/MANDY MCFARLAND Wa-Nee schools celebrated Veterans Day last Friday, Nov. 9 and Monday, Nov. 12. North Wood Middle School held a special Friday morning assembly to honor Wa-Nee veterans. The eighth grade choir gave a special performance of “American Pride" and choir teacher Tonya Angle sang the National Anthem. Captain Nathan Harlin of the Indiana Army National Guard spoke about what it means to honor veterans. • Following was a special introduction of the veterans gathered. Students Ben Zercher and Marcos Castillo performeck "Taps" on the trumpet following a moment of silence. A video titled "Already Home” served as a tribute to those who have died in service Veterans were treated to refreshments in the cafeteria following the program.
