Football tickets on sale this week i ■ The football sectional championship game against South Bend St. Joseph is this Friday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Marian High School. . NWHS competition cheerleaders advance to state finals The North Wood High School competition cheerleaders competed at the Indiana State Preliminaries at Greenfield High School last Saturday and have earned a spot to compete in the 3A state finals on Saturday, Nov. 3 at New Castle Chrysler High School near Indianapolis. Their performance time is scheduled for 3:10 p.m. and they will compete against ten other 3A schools from across the state of Indiana for the state championship.

At approximately 11:01 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, police reported a crash at the comer of C.R. 11 and C.R. 52, two miles east of the Nappanee city limit. According to the Elkhart County Sheriffs department, a 2002 Mazda 626 driven by Trent Klotz, 17, of Nappanee had collided with by 1987 GMKC Sierra, driven by Nathan Yoder, 40, of Milford. According to a report from the Elkhart County sheriffs department, Yoder, eastbound west of C.R. 11, and Klotz, northbound south of C.R. 52, came to a two-way stop, where Klotz

had the right-of-way. Police reported that Yoder proceeded into the intersection, where Klotz, unable to stop, collided with him. Yoder is said to have suffered a head injury. Yoder was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. There was one passenger in each vehicle. Neither was injured. Klotz who was wearing a seat belt at the time, suffered no injuries.

Household waste collection scheduled The solid waste management district of Elkhart County will sponsor their next household waste and tire collection Saturday, Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Borden Waste-Away Service near the comer of West Beardsley and Wildwood in Elkhart. The collection is for all Elkhart County residents. Acceptable waste includes latex and oil-based paints, motor oil, gasoline, pesticides and household cleaners and computer and related electronic parts. Materials should be in the original labeled containers if possible and no containers larger than 5 gallons will be accepted Four tires per household will be accepted without the rims.
