Vera V. Hummel Jan. 9,2007 BREMEN Vera V. Hummel, 94, of Bremen, died at 12:38 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at home. She by daughters: Charlene F. (Tom) Guyse of Bremen and Shirley A. (Anthony) Schalliol of Wyatt; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation is Friday, Jan. 12 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services are Saturday, Jan. 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Salem United Methodist Church, Bremen. Burial will be in the Bremen Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Salem United Methodist Church of Bremen. Donald T. Sheiey Jan. 6, 2007 GOSHEN - Donald T. Sheiey, 47> of Goshen died on Saturday, Jan. 6 at 9:40 a.m. at Goshen General Hospital. He is survived by companion Robert Garza of Goshen; one sister: Nancy (Tim) Schmucker of Etna Green; two nieces: Courtney Schmucker of Etna Green, Lindsay Schmucker of Etna Green. Visitation was Tuesday, Jan. 9 from 2 to 4 and 6 to Bp.m. at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home. Services took place on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at the funeral home. Burial was at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Houser attributes much of this success to hard work and dedication on the part of his students. "The kids have done a great job," he said. While Houser looks forward to this new opportunity, he admits that it will be difficult to leave North Wood behind. "Right now it's very bittersweet," he said. "I love it here." More than anything, Houser said, he will miss the people at North Wood. "Especially my students," he said. "They are just the heart and soul of most of my life." Houser plans to finish out the school year with NorthW'ood before heading to Chicago. He will accompany the Red Regiment to Washington, D.C! this spring to perform in the annual Memorial Day parade. Aside from all of this, another major change is taking place in Houser's life. "I'm getting married this summer," he announced. Downie. The heating units had to be replaced as well, and all of the floors were completely redone. "The biggest reason I did this is because customer satisfaction is important to me," said Downie. New equipment was added to the garage area, including two new 10,000 pound lifts and a 15,000 pound lift for working on cars, a new power garage door opener and other essential equipment. Downie also kept on two former Ford employees. "(Rex Dumph) is the best Ford technician around," said Downie. "1 kept their best tech to be able to provide a Ford tech for the community." Downie's desire is customer satisfaction. "(We have) the big city deal with the small town feel," he said. Customers have expressed their satisfaction with the new location and with the service. "I love them," said customer Linda Hixon of Mishawaka. "It's worth the drive here." Hixon and her husband, Bill, both purchased PT Cruisers from Downie. TIF consolisation will not harm
By Mandy McFarland Editor NAPPANEE Citizen concern has risen over the upcoming consolidation of Nappanee's three tax incremental finance (TIF) districts into one large district. Nappanee residents Bob Heckathorn and Bonnie Hochstetler became concerned when they received letters explaining that the new TIF district would overlap their properties. Their apprehension was that this would negatively affect their property taxes. However, the council assured them that this would not be the case.

Andrews assures residents that, while any city has the option to declare imminent domain, the expansion of the TIF districts will not affect this, nor does the City of Nappanee have any interest in doing so.
