age group. "I've just being doing well by swimming all year long, and learning from other swimmers," he said. Swimming in the league has helped him dropped one second in his 100 time, which is saying something. "He's still improving, and once you get to the level he's at, it's hard to improve," Whetstone said. Whetstone has noticed Byrket's endurance increase oVer the past year, and that's been possible through the way he works in practice. "He's someone that works really hard in practice," freshman swimmer Zach Slabaugh said. "He's jyst someone you want to be." Along with working hard, Byrket also had surgery over the summer, to help with sinus problems he was developing last season. "I just had a bunch of headaches, so I had sinus surgery to help with that," Byrket said. Whetstone commented that his sinuses would get so bad, that it was evident in his appearance. "You could just see it in his eyes, that he was having trouble with his sinuses," the coach said. Now that he's feeling better, Byrket is heading into sectionals with goals, but his aren't too far-reaching. "I just want to do better than I did last year," he said. While he tries to better his performance from a year ago, he'll probably have to face

Lake City Bank Promotion
Staff Report The board of directors of Lake City Bank has announced the promotion of Ranee Glingle to commercial loan officer in Commercial Banking serving the north central Indiana area markets. Glingle has been with Lake
Battjes again, but according to him, he doesn't have any favorite swimmers that he likes to compete against. What he does enjoy is swimming against top-tier swimmers. "They push you, and they're usually next to you," he said. "They're trying to beat you, so you have to beat them." While he may be able to get out of sectionals this season, Whetstone and Byrket both know that there's still room for improvement. "He's been working on his starts and streamlines off the start," the coach said. "He does very well in the water, so the big thing is to getting him into the water faster." Once he's in the water, Byrket feels like he can make improvements there as well. "I need to work more on my turns and streamlining," he said. As he continues to work, Byrket will keep enjoying the reason he even swims. "I like it for the exercise," he said. "I also enjoy meeting all the new people in different places." Even with swimming faster times than he ever has this season, the numbers aren't what has highlighted his sophomore year. "It's probably just all the people on the team," he said. As he continues to succeed, he leads the team in a quiet way. "He shows what he can do in the water," Whetstone said of Byrket's quiet leadership.
