Undefeated Season With the North Wood Panthers winning the Class 3A State Championship this season, the program only looks to be getting stronger in the coming years, as the Bth Grade team is also coming off a championship year. The bride is a Navy nurse and her husband a member of squadron VS23 at North Island, near Coronado, California. 25 Years Ago Nov. 26,1980 Special reading programs within the Wa-Nee schools were reviewed at the meeting of the Board of School Trustees Monday. Reading Specialist Jeannie Gilbreath outlined the function of Title I reading aides and their importance in the special reading programs. She said that, as opposed to regular teacher aides, Title I aides are actively involved in classroom activities, assisting with reading groups to provide more opportunities for individualized instruction. 15 Years Ago Nov. 21,1990 Recently, a petition was filed through both Elkhart and Kosciusko Counties to allow Nappanee the right to begin 911 Enhance service to Nappanee's immediate area. The original 911 service began in Nappanee around 1981. With the extended service, which could begin as quickly as six months after the paperwork is complete, emergency service personnel will be able to locate callers much more readily.
