Visitation was held at the Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa, after 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20. Funeral services were conducted at the funeral home at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20 with Pastor David Harper, Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Now the guard can get changed right on the trailer, while a college football game comes out of the surroundsound speakers on the inside and outside of the trailer. Houser and the band have already utilized the VCR once this season, reviewing their performance at an early Saturday morning performance, while traveling to a performance later in the day. Calvary Baptist On Sunday, Oct. 23, Calvary Baptist Church of Nappanee will begin a series of meetings with Evangelist Brent Svinksty of Lakeville. The services will be a 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m, and 6:30 p.m. on Sunday and then every evening Monday through Friday at 7 p.m There will dynamic preaching from the Bible, special music and a nursery will be provided in each service. Brent Svinksty was bom into the home of an evangelist and started traveling with his family when he was 6 weeks old. He traveled with his family in meetings 10 months out of the year until he went to college. Evangelist Svinksty was saved at the age of 8 and was baptized a short time later. At the age of 14 the Lord called him to preach at the Bill Rice Ranch under the ministry of Paul Levin and he surrendered to serve the Lord in whatever capacity God would choose. Two years later, while reading his Bible. The Lord made it clear to him that He wanted him to serve as an evangelist. After college and graduate school, through the counsel of godly men, the Lord directed his heart to serve in a local church so that he might mature, gain wisdom, learn the heart of a pastor and be better prepared to serve the

Houser said. "We were able to touch base, and see what things were working." Another snazzy feature on the trailer, is a water hose on the outside of it. Houser commented that the hose may be used to dean roasters that are used to cook up food, or to clean off the band members shoes following a performance on a muddy field. The trailer holds up to 140 gallons of water, and also has its own generator. "It's a giant visual ambassador for Wa-Nee," Houser said. NAPPANEEMISSIONARY Nappanee Missionary Church will host a concert featuring Children of the World International Children's Choir on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. This choir, comprised of 17 children from five different countries, is a part of the ministry of World Help of Forest, Va. These orphaned and disadvantaged children are from India, Nepal, Uganda, Brazil and the Philippines. They awia.. the midst of a 10-month contain tour in the Unites States and .; have performed at Disney ; World, Lego Land and the Crystal Cathedral. This inspiring one-hour concert will feature several songs in both English and native dialects, as well as stirring personal testimonies. Also part of the concert is a video presentation, featuring footage of the children's home countries. Senior Pastor Dave Engbrecht extends an open invitation to attend this inspiring night of music. Church members will distribute empty grocery bags, Saturday, Nov. 5, to all residents within city limits. * Residents are asked to generously fill the empty bags with non-perishable food items and return them to a front door location easily viewed from the street before Saturday, Nov, 12. Those putting items in pickup locations clearly visible from the street should see items gathered by 9 a.m. on that day. • Anyone not experiencing pickup by that time should call the church, 773-4183, so arrangements can be made to collect donated items. Items received through the Million Can March will be given to Nappanee Open Door to help local families. Anyone wanting to bring the donations straight to the church are welcome to do so.
