Dorothy L. Geyer October 6,2004 WAKARUSA - Dorothy L. Geyer, 87, died Oct. 6 at 5<20 a.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa. She was a lifelong resident of Nappanee and was a teacher in Nappanee and New Paris schools. She is survived by one brother, LaMar Reed of New Paris; three sisters, Lillian Calbeck of Richmond, Myrtle (David) Krull of Goshen and Margaret (Don) Juday of New Paris; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held Oct. 8 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home of Nappanee from 5 to 8 p.m. and for one hour prior to the funeral service. Funeral services were held at the funeral home on Oct. 9 at 10:30 am., with burial following at Union Center Cemetery. Rev Paul Stauffer officiated the service. Memorials may be dedicated to Nappanee Church of the Brethren. Joe J. Kramer October 4,2004 BREMEN - Joe J. Kramer, 75, of Bremen died Oct. 4 at 11:25 a.m. at his home of natural causes. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Kramer; two sons, Herman Jay (Vera) Kramer of London. Ohio and Melvin Ray (Rosetta) Kramer of Bremen; three daughters. Anna Mae (Larry) Newell of Plain City, Ohio. Martha Jane (Tobias Jr.)Borkholder of Nappanee and Mary Lou (Perry) Bontrager of LaGrange; 22 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one sister. Polly (Dan) Hochstetler of Plain City, Ohio. The body lay in state at the family residence in Bremen Oct. 5 after 1 p.m. and all day on Oct. 6. Funeral services were held at the Christ Kurtz residence in Bremen on Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m. with burial following at the South Hepton/Cedar Road Cemetery. Bishops John and Levi Plank officiated the service. Lucille Ann Scott October 6, 2004 GRAYLING. Mich. - Lucille Ann Scott, 102, of Grayling, Mich, died Oct. 6 at 3:25 a.m. at Mercy Manor. In 1959 and 1960. Mrs. Scott and her husband assisted in the establishment of a new factory site for Blue Bell in Nappanee. She is survived by one nephew, Harry Balzer; two nieces, Della Ray of Tennessee and Mary Shier Gillman of Washington.; one great nephew, James R. (Shirley R) Shaw of Columbia City; two great nieces, Carole (Dohn "Lee”) Weaver and Barbara Waldorf of Grayling, Mich; and several other nieces and nephews. Visitation was held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 8 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home in Columbia City. Twilight memorial services by the Order of Eagles Auxiliary Lodge #1906 and Columbia City Moose were held on Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services were held Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. C. James Cress of Grace Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was at Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City. Memorials may be dedicated to the American Cancer Society. Richard Arlen Stably October 2,2004 FORT WAYNE - Richard A. Stahly, 75, of Fort Wayne died Oct. 2 at 6:29 p.m. at Parkview Hospital of natural causes. He had resided in Ft. Wayne since 1999. He was the service manager at McCormick Motors and Stahly-Stillson Motors in Nappanee. He is survived by his wife. Esther Stahly; one son. James L. (Karen) Stahly of Milford; two daughters Joellen (Jerry) Bums of Warsaw and Jeanne (Phil) Pasko of Huntington; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Kathy (Robert) Rhodes of Nappanee. ' Visitation was held Oct. 5 from 2to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. A memorial service was held at 8 p.m. on Oct. 5, following visitation.
