Noble Edward Dougherty Feb. 1, 2004 NAPPANEE Noble Edward Dougherty,96, of 405 W. Lincoln St. in Nappanee, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004 at 9:15 p.m. Dougherty was bom March 27, 1907 in Marshall County to Noah Dougherty and Laura Berger. He lived in the Nappanee/Bremen area his whole life. He married Fem Amelia Haney Oct. 4, 1930 in Bremen. She preceded him in death June 14, 1988. Dougherty was a 1925 graduate of Bremen High School and a retired farmer. Survivors include his son Paul (Mary Lou) Dougherty of Nappanee, grandchildren Sheila (Matt) Warren, Warsaw; Donna (Mike) Leatherman, Warsaw; John (Lorene) Dougherty, Nappanee; Greg (Abby) Dougherty, Coconut Creek, Fla. and Kathy (Rocky) Enfield, Elkhart. Also surviving are 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Irene Dougherty and Anna Lou Bibler, son Stanley Dougherty, great-granddaughter Annie Enfield, and sister Esther Dougherty. The funeral was at the Nappanee United Methodist Church Thursday, Feb. 5 at 10:30 a.m. Burial was at the Bremen Cemetery. Rev. David Harrold of Nappanee United Methodist Church officiated. Bom Dec. 31, 1957 in Detroit, Mich, to John Malott Sr. and Barbara Smith, Kautz moved to Nappanee in 1995 from Tuscon, Ariz. She grew up in Columbia City. She married Steven Kautz in 1989 in Tuscon, Ariz. Kautz was a graduate of Columbia City High School and was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Steven; her son B. J. Kautz and daughter Angela Kautz, both at home; her step-son Christopher Kautz of Barbourville, Ky., step-daughter Eveyln Kautz of Elkhart and three step- grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother Barbara (Richard) Smith of Columbia City, brother John Malott of Columbia City, Step-brothers Steve Malott, Butch (Elaine) Malott, both of Tuscon, Ariz., and Tom Smith of Columbia City; step-sisters Julie Malott, Robin Malott, Marilyn Malott, all of Tuscon, Ariz., and Tammy Smith of Ft. Wayne. Burial took place at South Union Cemetery. Rev. Steve Holmes of Pillar of Fire Church performed services. Memorials may be sent to Wendy Kautz Memorial Fund. ' <i Mr. Clemans is also being held for two outstanding warrants for his arrest through Kosciusko County for Check Deception. Mr. Clemans is scheduled to appear in Nappanee City Court on February 4, 2004 at 5 p.m.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION CLASSES UNDER WAY The following are descriptions of some of the other upcoming classes: Introduction to Computers: This one-day course is designed for individuals who want to learn, or who need to update their knowledge of computer applications. The class will be held at the Nappanee Public Library on Thursday, February 5, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $25. A workbook may be purchased for an additional fee or signed out for the duration of the class. Other courses offered during the spring session include Digital Cameras and Scanners, First Aid/CPR Certification, Time Management, Tips for Buying a Computer, and several Microsoft Program classes including Access, Frontpage, and Windows XP. These 20-ounce boxes will contain one of five award winning books. All donated cereal will be given to the Family Christian Development Center. The cereal will be distributed to low-income families for whom owning a book is a luxury. If a specially marked box cannot be found, a donation of any size Cheerios or type will be accepted for distribution. Donations will be accepted through Feb. 28. TODDLER TIME Toddler Time will begin on Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. There are still openings for this program that has been developed for children ages 25 - 36 months accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
