Friends of library decorate It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Wakarusa Public Library, as this young reader discovered. Friends of the Library members decorated the interior of the building on Dec. 3, using two new Christmas trees donated by the group. Further donations by the Friends of the Library were used recently to purchase flat screen monitors for the checkout desk and to give books to preschoolers participating in this fall's story hour. Child in photo is Wesley Middaugh.

Wagners celebrate 50fh anniversary
45,' j jfl A ' ■ j
Allan and Charlene Wagner Allan and Charlene Wagner of Phoenix, Ariz., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on a seven-day cruise to Mexico. They have lived in Phoenix for 43 years and return to Indiana for two or three weeks every year. They have two daughters, seven grandchildren and 20 great-grand-children.
Kiwanibull Geeters and Sheriffs are needed for next year. Please see Bonnie to make yourself available for this important assignment. Oh Yes. Sid held the winning 50/50 ticket but die not draw the Joker. Some highlights of last week’s meeting include Bonnie H. and Mike S. being named Kiwanians of the Month at the Board Meeting last Monday. Also Jeff K. was acting as the Mystery Hand Shaker with whom many did not shake. Remember, each meeting one of our group will be the mystery man, and every one should shake hands with him or her or pay a fine. We were very pleased to have Coach Rich Dodson and four of his senior football players with us for our Dec. 3meeting. Each of the players introduced themselves, told us a little about themselves and what their future plans were. It was very inspiring for all of us to meet these fine boys and find that their future plans included, in all cases, a program of higher education in college or more. We are so pleased to have such fine young men in our town. We hope they will have much success in their future endeavors. Our fruit is here! We hope all has been picked up by now, and the distribution is under way. This has been profitable for us. Join us Tuesday, noon, at Dal Mar Banquet Hall, 159 E. Lincoln St. ’■“<
