PHOTO BY KYIiE CARTER Building Community Family Christian Development Center invited members of the community to come together for a “Building Community' breakfast on Nov. 19, where various members of the center and the community informed those present about the center's projects and ways in which it helps those less fortunate. Here, Mayor Larry Thompson is shown thanking the center's founder Joan Andrews for all her hard work and determination. Make a difference with World Heritage World Heritage, a non-profit student exchange program, is currently seeking a local community representative to provide high school exchange students with program support. The ideal candidate should enjoy fostering international friendships, be community minded and enjoy working with teenagers. Community representatives screen potential host families, meet with local high schools, and provide support counseling for host families and students. World Heritage also provides international opportunities for families to host a student and for an American teen to become an exchange student. If you are interested in one of these rewarding experiences, please call Christina at 1-800-888-9040 or visit their website at www.world-heritage.org.

More than 45 women produced close to 300 dozen cookies for this year's event. Other food gifts and complimentary hot drinks and cookies were also offered. Many of the bakers were third generation participants, preserving a rich tradition of successful and much-anticipated cookie walks. Funds raised from the event will be used to pay off the church's recently built Family Center, which houses the Presbyterian Nursery School. The school just celebrated its 40th anniversary.
