BEREAVEMENT GROUP TO MEET AT NAPRANEE ÜBRARY Grief is difficult any time of the year, but it may be especially difficult during the approaching holiday season. The Bereavement Staff at Elkhart General Community Hospice invite adults who have experienced loss to participate in the upcoming bereavement support group, “How Will I Get Through the Holidays?" Participants will meet at the Nappanee Public Library each Tuesday, Nov. 4 - Dec. 16, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. The group provides the opportunity to be with others who have also experienced the recent death of a family member. You will have time to share your concerns and discuss steps you can take to make the holidays a little easier. The group is designed to be most helpful if you attend all or at least many of the 7 sessions. There is no charge for the meetings, and interested persons are encouraged to invite family members or others who may be interested in the group. Please register by Friday, October 31, if possible, by calling the Hospice Offices at (574) 523-3135 and 1-800-284-8999 or by visiting the Nappanee Public Library website at www.nappanee.lib.in.us. Our new President, Bill Fales, presided over his first full meeting last week, and did a fine job of it He outlined a number of new programs he is planning and it looks like this year will be an exceptional year for the Nappanee Noon Kiwanis club. He instituted a “Kiwanis Minute” during which he told us about the Pancake Breakfast which will be held at the Nappanee High School dining room on Nov. 1, he hopes we can start a K-Kids club at the local schools and gave us all a challenge to bring in one new member this year. He gave himself the challenge of bringing in 5 new members, and challenged us all to match his effort. It sounds like he will award a nice financial prize for anyone who meets his challenge. So, it is up to us all to show Bill up in this effort. We have 37 members; think what a club we would have if each of us brought in one more! Other notable items from last week’s meeting include a report on the Place Mat advertisement program and a new, improved Trivia challenge that will be instituted on Nov. 1. Come and see if you can stump the experts! Also, Joe Sabe acted as Sheriff and Jeff won the 50/50. Many new things are-a happening, so come and see what’s new! Court Report
