Tri Kappa offers scholarships
WA-NEE The NappaneeWakarusa Chapter of TVi Kappa is seeking Wa-Nee area college students who might be qualified candidates for a number of scholarships offered by the state organization of TVi Kappa. Any full-time college student currently enrolled in a baccalaureate or graduate program, which has completed at least one academic year, may apply. Applicants must reside in the Wa-Nee area. Criteria used by a Tri Kappa selection committee are academic achievement, strong goals, extracurricular activities, work experience and volunteer service. WAKARUSA Story Hour begins on Monday. Feb. 3 at 10:15 a.m. at the Wakarusa Public Library. Two other classes will be offered, one will meet on Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. and the other one on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. There are places available in each class for children ages 3-6 who are not in school. To register, call the library at 862-2465. The Friends of the Library will meet on Feb. 5 at 1 p.m. Anyone interested in helping this group is invited to attend. Joshua Paul Nelson Jan. 19, 2003-Jan. 19, 2003 MIO, MICHIGAN Joshua Paul Nelson. 28038 C.R. 32, Elkhart, died as a stillborn on Jan. 19. 2003 at Elkhart General Hospital. He was the son of Jon and Dee Ann (Blosser) Nelson. Surviving are his parents. Jon and Dee Ann Nelson and two brothers: Daniel and Jonathon, both at home. Also surviving arc his paternal grandmothers and step grandfather, Betty Nelson-Wenger and Paul Wenger, both of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents. Paul Sr. and Dee Blosser and a paternal grandfather. Harold E. Nelson. A private family service was held and burial took place at Olive West Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made through Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home in the Wakarusa Chapel. * \ June A. Germann Aug. 28, 1922-Jan. 20, 2003 BREMEN June A. Germann. 80 of 303 S. Center St.. Bremen, died Jan. 20 at Community Hospital of Bremen. Bom Aug. 28. 1922 in Bremen, she was the daughter of Ada Manges. She married Eldon E. Germann on July 20. 1441. who preceded her in death on July 20, 1998. She was a lifelong resident of Bremen. June was a homemaker and worked w ith her husband in the family business of Germann Milk Hauling. She was an Indiana and International Carnival Club member. Surviving are two daughter: Shirley (Don) Yarian of Bremen and Bonnie (Rob) Wallace of Mission Viejo. Calif.: a son. Ernie (Peggy) Germann of Nappanee; a granddaughter. Tona (Mike) Molebash of Bremen and four grandsons: Chris Wallace of California; Brook (Shawn) Germann of Nappanee; Mark (Suzanne) Germann of Pittsboro. NC and Scott Germann of Pendleton. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren and two stepgreat grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and husband. Eldon E. Germann. A funeral service, conducted by Pastor Chuck Krieg, was held at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen on Friday, Jan. 24. Burial took place at Bremen Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Community Hospital of Bremen or Marshall County Hospice.

Elsie Masterson July 16, 1920-Dec. 20, 2002 MIO, MICHIGAN Elsie Masterson. 82. of Fairvicw, formerly of Nappanee. died Friday. Dec. 20. 2002 at the AuSablc Valley Home in Fairview. Bom July 16, 1920 in Marshall County, she was the daughter of John and Katie Ann (Hochstetler) Ivan. She married Ernest Leroy Masterson on Dec 14. 1941 in Nappanee. SUcwas a cashier at Schultz's Dime Store in Nappanee and was a member of the Assembly Church of God. She also performed on live radio as a pianist with her husband and children on the ‘Come Let Us Reason Together" program sponsored by the North Wood Chapel. Elsie also loved reading and crocheting. Elsie and her husband moved to Fairview in August of 1989. Surviving are her husband, Ernest Leroy Masterson; two daughters: Sharon (Jeny) Yoder of Fairview and Cynthia Masterson of Mio. Mich.; a half-sister. Anna Mary Hochstetler of Elkhart: a half-brother. Ray (Gladys) Hochstetler of Goshen; a granddaughter. Sarah Yoder and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a half-sister, Janet Miller. A funeral service, conducted by Pastor Russell Bowman and Pastor David Barker of The New Beginnings Foursquare Gospel Church of Mio. Mich, was held at the New Hope Assembly of God Church in Mio on Monday. Dec. 23, 2(X)2. Burial took place at Fairview Cemetery and funeral arrangements were handled by Orr Funeral Home in Mio.
