Year-Long Celebration RON KE,S£R mOTOS As 2002 approaches its end, the community of Wakarusa also wraps up a year-long Sesquicentennial (150) year celebration. The event has filled the community with exciting activities throughout the year, among them the burial of a community time capsule, to be reopened in 25 yars. Shown at top is Town Manager Tom Roeder, as he takes a turn with the shovel. At bottom, the capsule is lowered into the ground for its burial. "Wakarusa 1852-2002-- Building A Future On 150 Years Of Faith Family Friends: A Look Back in Time” photo books are now available. Take a glimpse at 150 years of celebrations and generations. This book is a presentation of past and present photos of historic Wakarusa. The dazzling 94-page book that includes more than 140 photos is $25 each and may be purchased at the Town Hall Monday through Friday, 8.a.m.4p.m. Interested persons may also purchase the book at several downtown Wakarusa businesses Including Key Bank, Dru's Jewelry/Shear Adventure and the Wakarusa Medical Clinic. Wakarusa Public Library holds afterschool program

An Afterschool Craft program will be held on Nov. 12 at 3:30 p.m. Children in grades K-5 may register for this event. A bear claw necklace will be created. Lapsit will begin on Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. This is a series of five classes for children ages 15 mo. -24 mo. who are accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
