Harvest party, trickortreat schedule set by NPD
The Nappanee Police Department has announced that trick-or-treat dates and times for this year are Thursday, October 31, 57p.m. Parents are reminded to accompany all small children and to wear light or reflective costumes during trick-or-treat. It is also a good idea to keep all loose clothing away from feet, and do not wear masks that interfere with vision. Parents are also reminded to inspect all candy and treats before children eat them, and visit house with which you are familiar. Stay with a buddy or with friends. The police reserves will host the annual Fall Harvest Party Thursday, October 31, beginning at 7p.m., after trick-or-treat hours. The party

Wakarusa hosts celebration
The annua) Wakarusa community Halloween party will be held Saturday, beginning at 7p.m., in the downtown area. Costume contest categories will include animals, clowns, miscellaneous characters, patriotic pride, storybook, television and movie characters and witches, ghosts and all scary creatures. Age divisions are children under two years, ages 2-up and adult. Prizes will be awarded in each category and age division. Also planned are hayrides and a cakewalk. Free hot chocolate, apple cider and donuts will be served and free candy com will be given to all costumed participants.
Offer 10 free fall trees
Ten free trees, autumn classics, will be given to each person who joins The National Arbor Day Foundation during October. Festivities will be relocated to North Wood Middle School if weather does not allow for outdoor activities. Boxes for cakes to be used in the cakewalk are available at the Wakarusa Bakery. The bakery offers its services to businesses interested in donating cakes —the cakes can be decorated with a Halloween theme or a business logo. Delivery is available.
