Hawks graduated from Indiana University of South Bend with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Honor Society, in which she achieved a 3.2 GPA or higher and is in the top 1/3 of her class. Tami was also a member of the Dean’s Student Advisory Committee, and while at lUSB received two nursing scholarships. Tami is the daughter of Robin Hawks, Nappanee and granddaughter of Bob and Doris Chokey, Nappanee. She resides in South Bend and is employed at St. Joseph Community Hospital Mishawaka on the surgical floor. She is engaged to Alfred Pinto and plans to marry on August 17, 2002.
