Screenings scheduled

Life Line Screening will offer four health screenings using noninvasive ultrasound to assess the risk of stroke and vascular disease, Tuesday, January 22, at the Nappanee United Methodist church, 301 E. 4-H achievement winners take trip

Ten Elkhart County 4-H members were selected to attend the Chicago Achievement Trip on January 3 and 4. Local 4-Her’s were: Ashley Egging, Etna Green; Sarah Lechlitner, Wakarusa and Peter Rummel, Nappanee. 4-H members who had at least eight years of tenure and were in the 10th-12th grade were invited to apply for the trip. Winners were selected based on the number of projects completed, activities within their club, and leadership roles held. Upon arrival in Chicago, the 4-H Achievement Trip winners visited the Museum of Science and Industry and the

Local 4-H clubs reorganize

The Union Township 4-H clubs have reorganized, and will now consist of two clubs instead of three. Both clubs are for boys or girls in grades 3-12, residing in Union Township or surrounding areas. Those members who were in the Guys and Gals Club, which has been combined, are encouraged to contact one of the leaders from either the Happy Hustlers or the Panther Paw clubs for

The Ted and Chris Lantz Family includes Kelsey, a fifth grade student; Jordan, a third grader at Woodview and the family’s three cats: Callie, Lexy and Molly. The family moved to Nappanee in 1994 from Dewart Lake, near Syracuse, and they had also resided in Ft. Wayne. Ted is a 1973 graduate of Bremen High School and Chris graduated in ‘74 from North Wood High School. They relocated in order to be a

Ted teaches third grade at Orchard View Elementary in Middlebury, and Chris is the manager-buyer for the Elkhart General Hospital Gift Shop: They attend Nappanee Missionary Church, where they are active in the children’s ministry. Chris also volunteers at Woodview and Ted is a member of the Wa-Nee Release Time Committee. In their spare time. Ted enjoys woodworking and Chris loves to garden (“in a small way!”) and reading. They have been subscribers to the Advance-News for seven years, seeking to keep informed on local community and school activities.
