PARK BOARD The Nappanee Board of Parks and Recreation will meet in regular session, Wednesday, December 12, 4:30p.m., in the Emergency Services Building, W. Lincoln St. SCHOOL BOARD The Wa-Nee Board of School Trustees meeting will be held on December 24, 6:30p.m. at the Wa-Nee Administration Building, north on S.R. 19. Meetings are open to the public. The holiday musical will be presented Friday and Saturday evenings, December 7-8 and 14-15, at 7:30p.m. and for two Sunday matinees, December 9 and 16, 2:30p.m. Performances are held on the West Park pavilion stage, at 500 N. Nappanee St. Cast members include Angela Jefferies, Dave Kiefer, Jesse Pressler, Julie Stutzman, Vicki Karnes, Don Jefferies, Nik Havert, Jimmy Armstrong and Dick Smith. Backing up the cast are

heritage center, reading room, computer lab, meeting rooms and more, with a guided tour. There will be fun for the whole family throughout the afternoon, with puppet shows, presentations, demonstrations, give-aways, music by Dawning Generation, the North Wood Jazz Band and the Jazz Connection and refreshments from Amish Acres Restaurant, The Country Table, The Electric Cat, John’s Butcher Shop, Martin’s Supermarket, Mary’s Express, and Teakwood Gourmet.

Ned Speicher receives superintendent award

After consideration by superintendents from each of the state’s eight districts, the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents has selected its eight District Superintendents of the Year and its State Superintendent of the Year who will be nominated for consideration for the National Superintendent of the Year. Superintendents in each area of the state considered the qualifications and professional accomplishments of superintendents in their area as part of the selection process. The award winners were honored at the November 29 lAPSS Annual Meeting Banquet in Indianapolis. Based on that selection process, the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents has selected Mr. Ned Speicher as East Central Indiana District VI Superintendent of the Year. Superintendent Speicher is a Certified AASA Curriculum Auditor and is a trainer for Positive Classroom Management. Mr. Speicher earned the Education Specialist Degree from Indiana University in 1986, Mr. Ned Speicher has performed significant and widely recognized service on behalf of public education in Indiana.
