received another call from a citizen stating they saw that vehicle traveling south on S.R. 19 at a high rate of speed. Chief Anglin and Officer Elliott responded to that area locating the vehicle approximately eight miles south of Nappanee. Three subjects were taken into custody. Four cartons of cigarettes were found in the vehicle. Numerous Nappanee area businesses have been the victim of cigarette thefts in the past few weeks. The investigation is continuing to determine if the latest theft is related to the previous ones. Kris Kringle Craft Show November 26 The ninth annual Kris Kringle Craft Show will be held Sunday, November 26, 9a.m.-4p.m., at Union Station in downtown South Bend. A total of 150 crafters will fill 95 booths with hand-made crafts for holiday gift-giving and decorating. Lunch will be available. is free at Coveleski Stadium, and admission is $1 (children under age 12 admitted free). Due to limited space, no strollers are allowed.

The Boys and Girls Club of Nappanee believes in structured programming and member participation in a positive and respectful environment. To reward members for participating in structured activities the club has created a point system that rewards the members for doing .their Homework and Computer work, Arts and Crafts Projects, participating in Gamesroom tournaments and Athletic Leagues. Reach milestone in child % passenger safety The Elkhart County Safe Kids Coalition joins the National SAFE KIDS Campaign -jn announcing that more tfian 100,000 car seats have been checked as part of the SAFE KIDS BUCKLE UP program, sponsored by General Motors. Locally, more than 600 car seats have been checked and more than 250 car seats have been distributed. “The Elkhart County Safe Kids Coalition is thrilled to shave in this celebration,” said Una Miller, Elkhart County Safe Kids Coordinator. “We are proud to have played an important role in reaching this milestone, and we thank all of the local partners who’ve worked so hard to promote child passenger safety in our munity.” In recognition of the accomplishments by SAFE KIDS and its nearly 300 coalitions. National Transportation Safety Board Chairman Jim Hall presented the Campaign and General Motors with prestigious Special Act Awards at a luncheon held November 1,2000, in Washington, D.C. “General Motors and the National SAFE KIDS Campaign are providing a critical service to America’s families,” said Chairman Hall. “Many young lives have been saved by the SAFE KIDS BUCKLE UP program. I, hope other automakers will take ai leadership role to help protect chil-f dren on our nation’s highways.” Since the SAFE KIDS' BUCKLE UP program began iff 19%, more than 104,000 car seats' have been checked nationwide, more than 3,150 Car Seat Check Up events have been held and more than 72,000 car seats have been given away. At 6:21a.m., March 17, his body was found alongside an apartment building at 925 S., &t shot once isl the j head. Witnesses heard a single gunshot at around 11:15p.m. the night before. Diego did not own-a vehicle or drive, and it is unknown how he got to the River Park area.
