Goshen sweeps Panthers
The NWMS “A” golfers lost to Goshen. 237-253, in a match played May 16 at Spring Meadow Farm Golf Course. Trevor Shields and Jordan Anglemyer each shot 47s for the Panthers, while Aaron Hahn closed at 49, Wes BeMiller 53 and Greg Yoder 57. The “B” team also fell to Goshen, 261-274, with Andrew Myers and Josh Yoder each shooting 54 to pace the Panthers. Justin Tierney and David Brown each fired 555, Derrick Miller 56 and Jamie Skyrm 58. The Lady Panihers'fell 162-232. Bobbi Anglemyer led NW with 71.

Any time you get a sectional champion you’re happy, but I’m sad for others. Times weren’t as good as expected and the cool, damp conditions probably had something to do with that.” Warsaw won the team title with ioi.il of 115 noints. followed hv Elkhart Central with 96, Northridge 80-1/2, North Wood 72-1/2, Concord 59, Wawasee 52, Elkhart Memorial 51, Fairfield 36, Goshen 21 and Jimtown 2. The top four finishers in each event advanced to Bremen, competing with winners from the Bremen, Northwestern and Tippecanoe Valley Sectionals.

Yoder earns NLC honors Jess Yoder, a member ol the NorthWotnl High School girls’ tennis team, is the lone Panther to be named lust week to the All-Conference team, by Northern Lakes Conference coaches. Jess was named to an at-large position. Plymouth finished lirst in the conference with a 5-1 mark, while the Panthers placed sixth at 2-4. Lisa Edison, Plymouth, was named NLC Coach of the Year. Look for initial win The North Wood High School girls’ softball team is still looking for its first win of the season, as a result of last week’s 13-0 Northern Lakes Conference loss to Plymouth, on the Panther diamond The game was shortened to five innings, due to the 10-run rule. The 019 Panthers were hitless, and helped the Plymouth cause by committing seven errors, to none for their guests. Panther batters struggle The North Wood varsity baseball team slipped to 10-10 (3-7 NLC), last week, with losses to Elkhart Memorial and Plymouth. The JV also fell, to Plymouth, slipping to 8-7 on the season. Against Memorial, the hosts scored two runs in the first, another in the second and eight big ones in the fourth, while holding their guests runless in 1 the five-inning game, shortened due to the 10-run rule. Josh Snyder took the mound loss for the Panthers, with Brock Doty also, seeina Ditchine action. Matt Sitek and Jesse Hoover each eot a sinele for thel struggling Panthers. Plymouth took a 4-1 conference victory from the host Panthers, pounding out six hits while NW could manage just four. Singles were collected by Brock Doty, Anthony Sanders, Nate Brown and Eric Flickinger, who also got the lone RBI. Jesse Hoover went the distance on the mound for North Wood, issuing seven strikeouts and walking six. The JV fell to Plymouth 11-4, with the Panthers scoring all of their runs in the bottom of the first, while their guests scored eight runs in the seventh to pull out the victory. Brandon Hall was the losing pitcher, and added a single and run in the contest. Jordan Adams smashed two singles and a double, while Josh Estepp had a single and Jacob Rogers and Dustin Zentz each two singles.
