July 29, 9:18a.m. —Colin Gifford, Goshen, from Gulfstream to Elkhart General Hospital, due to Rotary report... Dennis Mishler gave the program for the July 28 meeting of the Nappanee Rotary Club. Joining him were men representing the reenactment of the 7th Indiana Artillery Unit. Guests included Mel Kemp, Larry Andrews, Jason Kemp and David Mishler. The program was adjourned to Westside Park where the men fired their cannon twice. Program chairman was Rob Shaw. The Lake Wawasee dinner cruise has been canceled. Rotarians plan to tour either the railroad museum in Elkhart or the S. Ray Miller Auto Museum in Elkhart in the future.

Mast earns 4-H award Valerie C. Mast is the 1999 recipient of the Millie Christofeno Perseverance Award. She is the daughter of Scott and Elaine Mast, Nappanee. Valerie is a 10-year 4-H member, and has participated in the foods project for 10 years, clothing for nine years and child development for one year. She also participated in 4-H fashion review, and has received the Ball Canning Award. Millie Christofeno taught home economics at Jimtown High School and was a 4-H leader in Elkhart County for 43 years.
