City court handles excessive load

Circus here August 25 for two performances
The Nappanee Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor two performances of the Kelly-Miller Circus, Tuesday, August 25, 4:30p.m. and 7:30p.m., at Borkholder Dutch Village, located northeast of Nappanee. Advance tickets for the circus are priced at $7 for adults and $5 for children under age 12. Tickets are on sale now at Park Pharmacy, Union summer picnic set in South Bend The North Central Indiana AFLCIO Council is sponsoring its second annual Union summer picnic, Saturday, August 15, l-6p.m„ at Teamsters Local 364, 2405 E. Edison Rd., South Bend. Speakers and invited guests will include South Bend Mayor Steven Luecke, Mishawaka Mayor Robert Beutter, State Representatives B. Patrick Bauer and Tom Kfomko'wski, Secretary of State candidate Cheryl Little, State Treasurer candidate Cleo Washington, several St. Joseph County officials and Jerry Payne, Indiana State AFL-CIO. The event is free to all active and retired Union members and their families. There will be free hot dogs, pop and snacks enlertainment and games for adults and children, and special raffle prizes. The counties of Elkhart, Kosciusko. Marshall, LaPorte, St. Joseph and Starke are represented by the North Central Indiana AFLCIO Council.

Founded in 1938 by Obert Miller and his sons, Kelly and Dores, this traditional tented circus has seen the passing of over half of this century, and still offers the same great family entertainment it presented in its humble beginnings. Thanks to the sponsorship of the Nappanee Area Chamber of Commerce, the all-new edition of the Kelly-Miller Circus will be in town Tuesday, August 25, featuring eleplfents, horses, dogs and a cast of international circus stars, under a beautiful circus big top. The tent-raising itself is a great free show that will take place at approximately 9a.m., with the public invited to attend. Enjoying a day at the circus means a lot more, than just oldfashiOned family fun. The event is also a fund-raiser for the chamber.
