Homemakers prepare for holidays For the fourth year, Elkhart County Extension Homemakers will present “Holiday Happenings,” Monday, October 27, Ip.m. and 7p.m., in the Home and Family Arts Building on the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds, CR34, Goshen. The cost of the program is $4, at the door. Committee members who are presenting this educational and fun program are Kris Mueller, Middlebury, chair; Karen Bontrager and Teresa Riegsecker, Middlebury; Veronica Gouker, Goshen, and Aloma Scott, Elkhart. This year’s program is being called “Homemade For the Holidays.” Participants will go home with food ideas, craft directions and holiday sewing ideas. In addition, there will be tasting at the program. Participants are asked to preregister, so adequate food and printed materials can be prepared. Please call the extension office at 219-533-0554.

SALUTE DRIVERS—The Advance-News would like to salute the school bus drivers of Wa-Nee Community Schools for their efforts, care and concern in the safe transport of the community's most precious cargo—our children. October 19-25 is National School Bus Safety Week. In preparation of this event school children at various age levels have participated in special school bus safety programs.
