As the two talked, the officer recognized the bicycle as one that had possibly been reported stolen. A request was made for the Nappanee dispatch to check for a stolen bicycle report, and it was confirmed that the bicycle had been reported stolen. The male subject, a 17-year-old juvenile, was arrested for possession of stolen property, illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage and curfew violation. He was transported to the NPD, and after paperwork was completed, was released to his father, after signing a written promise to appear in Nappanee City Court. PUBLIC INTOXICATION Anthony W. SfWfth, 31, 154 W. Market St., Nappanee, was arrested August 22, at 11:55p.m., and charged by local police with disorderly conduct and public intoxication. The NPD received a call at 11:55p.m., regarding a fight at Duke’s Tavern. Upon arrival, officers discovered a customer of the business restraining another customer. While talking to witnesses, police discovered that Smith had become unruly and was asked to leave the bar. He refused, and struck an employee with a pool cue, and had to be restrained. He was arrested on the charges listed, with the victim not wishing to press charged for battery. Mr. Smith was transported to Community Hospital of Bremen, for treatment of a laceration. He was then transported to the Elkhart County Security Center, where he was being held on a SI,OOO bond. Arresting officers were Terry Chanley, Josh Hamer and John Elliott. of S. Main St. Upon investigation of the driver’s license, it was determined that the driver was operating a vehicle while his license was suspended. It was also determined through a warrant check that there were two active warrants for the driver, through St. Joseph County. Arrested was Curtis W. Price, 21, 4226 Irish Hills Drive, South Bend, who was charged with the warrant arrest for possession of marijuana and driving on a beginner’s permit. Price was transported to the NPD, and, following initial paperwork, to the St. Joseph County Police Department POSSESSION OF MARDUANA Four men were arrested by local police and charged with possession of marijuana, following an August 23 incident which occurred at 2:32a.m. Officers' Hahn, Havert, Chanley and Reserve Officer Schmucker were dispatched to a possible underage drinking party at Lot 113, Meadows Mobile Home Park. When officers arrived and knocked at the door, the people within the mobile home hid, and would not come to the door. The manager of the mobile home was called to unlock the unit, and four men were located inside. Arrested on the charges were Jared Brandi, 20, 955 W. Centennial St., Nappanee; Aaron Fish, 20, Lot 113 Meadows, Nappanee; Brent Stouder, 21, Lot 204 Meadows, Nappanee, and Ryan Dye, 22, 66793 CR3, Wakarusa.
