ANNUAL EVENT—The Nappanee Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Chamber Golf Outing at McCormick Creek Golf Course in Nappanee Wednesday, August 13. Margaret DeLucenay has been named program director for Beardsley House, the assisted living facility which is scheduled to open in late September, at SR 19 and CR24. The Beardsley House will provide 39 private apartments for older adults at 27833 CR24 in southwest Elkhart. Beardsley House is owned by Assisted Living Concepts, which operates over 100 similar facilities throughout the United States. It will be the first ALC home opened in Indiana. This is a publicly-held company and is listed on the American Stock Exchange. Services are individually determined with family involvement, and are adapted to the resident’s preferences. The scope of services included medication assistance, health monitoring, and routine nursing services, as well as all meals, housekeeping, personal care assistance, and a kitchenette. The family pet is welcome. There is also a beauty shop, library and activity room, where residents can have family dinners, or choose from a variety of activities. The Beardsley House goal is to

She has worked in the field of human services for the past 20 years, in Elkhart, at Hansel Head Start, ADEC Resources for Independence, and Church Community Services. She is the mother of five and the grandmother of eight, all of whom live in Elkhart. She is a member of the Elkhart Christian Center.
