senior starters. Adam Allsop (6-foot-4) and Mike Miser (6-foot-3) move up from the junior varsity to man the right side of the line. At fullback, Glenn must replace Dale Groves, a top performer last season. Drotar has a pair of fullback candidates in senior Wes Roush and junior Bryan Gensinger. In Glenn’s double slot back offense, Corey Rough and Brandon Groves are both seniors with plenty of experience. Two juniors, Craig Stedman and Josh

It’s capable corps of linebackers, my goal to have four or five guys that we All-conference performer can count on to make it difficult for VSpr Roush along with Rizek give Glenn opposing defenses to defend us.” two top returners. On the defensive side, the Falcons return eight starters and welcome last year’s junior varsity head coach, Ed Robinson, as new defensive coordinator. “We feel very confident about our defense,” Drotar remarked. “We haven’t changed a thing from last year and (Ed) Robinson knows our system. Being that he was J.V. coach last year, he has great rapport with the kids who are moving up from our J.V.” On the line, senior Nate Downey returns as a starting tackle while Andy King, a junior, holds down the nose guard position. At the other tackle position, juniors Andy Zellers and Cory Givens along with Salyer and Allsop are vying for time. Drotar’s biggest concern is at

defensive end where the loss of both ends, including Corey Filson has the Falcons, “scrambling to find replacements.” Drotar lists Hartsell, Pletcher,

time at linebacker. Glenn returns its entire secondary and has younger players adding depth. Ruby, Rough, Williams, Stedman, Groves and Setser give {he Falcons many secondary options. A bonus for the Falcons is the return of senior kicker Alex Strang, a German foreign exchange student last year who twice booted field goals over 40 yards. According to Drotar, Strang’s visa is in order allowing the Falcons to take advantage of his skills once again. “Having a good kicker can make a big difference in a tough ball game,” said Drotar. “People underestimate the importance of a idd who can kick deep on a kickoff, but it gives you a tremendous advantage if your opponent has to start at the 20 yard line.”

One mofe advantage for the Falcons is opening against Fairfield before battling NSC foe Jimtown. “Fairfield is tough, but it is a better situation to get one under our belts before we play Jimtown,” conceded Drotar. “Jimtown will be a pretty good measuring stick for us.” With all of this in mind, what goal has Drotar set for his team? “Our goal has always been to win every game. That goal is a little more realistic this season.”
