Cavaliers look for fundamentals
DEE GRENERT Sports Writer CULVER The Culver Community Cavaliers are looking to put last season’s 0-9, (0-8 in NSC play) finish behind them. Coach Neil Wagner says Culver’s progress will come through learning fundamentals. “Fundamentals are the key to our improvement,” commented Wagner. “Hopefully, we can get those fundamentals down, especially blocking, tackling and just building an offense and defense that these kids can learn and hang their hats on. Senior Marty Flaherty has been a fixture on Culver’s offensive line throughout his career and heads up a group of returning linemen. Fighting for time on the offensive lyie will be two seniors, Shane Mohr and Dusty Stevens, and juniors Jacob Hartle and Steve Wise. All four players have varsity experience. A newcomer to the Cavs is Mike Zehner who looks to bolster the offensive line. Wagner is pleased with his seniors. “The attitude is very positive, upbeat.
