Local student joins Manchester choir performance Members of the Manchester College A Cappella Choir will perform Friday, December 13, Bp.m., in Winger Recital Hall, on the campus. November 24, 10:30p.m. Robert Riley, 206 Northwood Circle, Nappanee, from home to Elkhart General Hospital, due to medical problems. November 25, 6:38a.m. —David Jones, Cromwell, from Fairmont Homes to Elkhart General Hospital, due to laceration. Minor arrested at local tavern At approximately 12:11a.m. Friday, November 22, Nappanee Police Officers Matt Tice and Nik Havert were called to P.J.’s Sports Bar to investigate a possible minor at the bar. After talking to the waitress, she pointed out the suspect, who was drinking a beer at the time. The officers approached the subject and requested identification, and was identified as 20-year-old Ethan A. Mitchell of 3996 Liberty St., Bremen. He had been arrested for minor in a tavern last October. Mitchell was charged with minor in a tavern and possession of alcohol by a minor, and was taken to the Nappanee Police Department for initial paperwork. He was then transported to the Elkhart County Security Center, where he was held on a SSOO bond while awaiting a Wednesday, November 27 court date in the Nappanee City Court.

Present Christmas musical
Nappanee Elementary School will present their Christmas musical, entitled “A Rainbow Christmas,” at 7p.m. Tuesday, December 3, in the North Wood High School auditorium, under the direction of music teacher Amy Berger.The program will open with the Bulldog Choir setting the tone, singing “The Best Time of the Year,” “All I Want for Christmas is a Dinosaur,” “Fum, Fum, Fum” and “Santa’s Coming.” Approximately 230 students will then take the stage to present Teresa Jennings’ musical for young voices. Nappanee men arrested in Wakarusa
Two Nappanee persons were arrested November 20 by Wakarusa Police, following investigation of an incident at Wakarusa Business Drive. The Wakarusa Police Department, along with members of the Nappanee Police Department, worked together in an effort to curtail drug activity in the Wakarusa area. John Thomas Kimbel, 20, Lot 90, and Kenneth L. Roney, 20, Lot 91, Meadows Mobile Homes, Nappanee, along with two other white males were seen engaging in suspected drug activity in a vehicle over their lunch break from a local business. After police observed the vehicle drive left of center, and observed more suspicious activity in the vehicle, a traffic stop was made. An inventory of the vehicle led to the confiscation of suspected marijuana. It was later field-tested, and tested positive as marijuana. Also found in the car was smoking paraphernalia. In addition, it was found that the driver of the vehicle, John Kimbel, was driving on a suspendLocal students are assistants at Ball State Eight Ball State University students from Elkhart County -are serving as resident hall assistants. Assistants counsel students, assist directors with administrative duties, and enforce university housing policies. They also act as liaisons between hall directors and student residents. Included are two students from Nappanee: Kris Honeycutt, a senior majoring in fine arts, is the son of Jerry and,Susan Honeycutt, 900 Woodview Drive, and Kimberly Schmucker, a junior majoring in elementary education, is the daughter of Kent Schmucker, 27083 CRS2, and Sandra Schmucker, 656 W. Vanßuren St.
Christmas time, and the color is black and white. One by one, colorful creatures try to join the festivities, only to be turned away because they are not black and/or white. When Santa appears, the black and white creatures do not believe he is real, because he is not black or white. However, the colorful creatures do a great job of convincing them otherwise. The forest is renamed the Rainbow Forest, and the creatures celebrate “A Rainbow Christmas,” with everyone of every color invited. This is a joyous holiday message of acceptance. The public is cordially invited to attend.

Meeting room available The Nappanee Public Library has a meeting room which is available for use by civic, community, educational and business organizations. The room has a projection booth, screen and whiteboard, and is capable of seating up to 40 people. Reservations are required, and must be placed by a Nappanee Public Library cardholder. There is no charge for use of the room, but a $lO fee will be charged if refreshments will be served. The room is available for use from 7a.m.- 10p.m. Sundays, as well as Friday and Saturday evenings, and is available for holidays at the library director’s discretion. Rotary report... Rob Shaw was the program chairman for last week’s meeting of the Nappanee Rotary Club. He invited several of this newer members to give brief talks about themselves. Those who spoke were Gale Gerber, Janice Cunningham, Gary Decker and Terry Elphick. Students of the month were present with their sponsor, Marsha Caldwell. They were Mary Eby and Eric Oglesbee. Other guests were Jean Hunt, Katie Dyer, Deb Teal, Frank Brubaker, Ezra Slabaugh, and a visiting Rotarian from Goshen, Scott Anglemeyer. Scott Ervin, of Edward Jones, announced that he will be leaving the club, due to a change in jobs, and moving to Ft. Wayne.
