The following time schedule will be used in distributing season tickets for North Wood High School boys' basketball games. It is not necessary that you attend in person to select your seats. You may send a representative. You should attend only during .the time your name appears in a specific group. JV wrestlers open; host open house
The North Wood High School junior varsity wrestling team opened its season Saturday, placing five wrestlers in the 14-team North Wood JV Invitational. All place winners were runnersup, and included: Ben Becker at 112, Bruce Batson 125, Bill Mitschelen 135, Daryl Berger 171, and Justin Hershberger 215. Eric Sitek represented the Panthers in the 171 weight class. Warnken swims Julia Warnken, Nappanee, competed with the South Bend Dolphins Swim Club at the Watts Swim Meet, held November 1719, in Logansport. The 11-year-old swimmer finished with riine firsts, recording a total of six personal bests (*), as follows: 500 free, 5:36.95 (*); 100 breast, 1:12.19 (*); 50 free, 28.17 (*); 100 fly, 1:06.04; 200 free, 2:10.27; 50 breast, 34.08; 100 free, 1:00.36 (*); 50 fly, 29.70 (*), and 200 individual medley, 2:20.09 (*)• Panther girls beat Westview The North Wood High School freshman girls’ basketball team played against Westview last Thursday, November 16, winning with a score of 39-14. Megan Sloat made 15 points and eight rebounds, Brianne Bumworth had eight points and four rebounds and Joanna Bove, nine rebounds. Heather Zentz brought in six points, Mandi Huff four and Grace Bonewitz four. The win against Westview takes the Panther girls to a season record of 2-0. Panther league Results of the Panther League basketball competition for November 18, are as follows: The Celtics topped the Pistons 34-9, to move to 3-1 on the season, while the Pistons fell to 1-3. Ryan Bradley, Brandon Hall and Joey Hochstetler led the winners, with 10, 9 and 8 points respectively, while Jeff Hertzel chipped in four, Corey Wesley two and Mike Roose one. For the Pistons, Eric Brumbaugh, Eric Hommerding, Kyle Martin and Brandon Maust each had two points, and Austin Perkins added one. The Bulls topped the Spurs 3821, with each team moving to 3-1 on the season. Adam Leeper nailed 11 points, and Troy Cox nine, while Cory Ryman and Adam Bumworth each hit six, and Kevin Yoder, Brandon Bickel and Josh Homish each had two. For the Spurs, Peter Widmer pumped in nine, Bart Burkhart six, Jeremy Bechtel four and Peter Rummel two. The Pacers moved to 3-1 with a 15-8 win over the Wolves, who are 0-4 this season. For the Pacers, Joe Fisher and Matt Mailloux each scored four, while Philip Jones, Aaron Henkler, Andrew Stickel each had two and Jon Kulp one. For the Wolves, Michael Craig, Scott Gerber, Caleb Shaw and Brandon Stutzman each nailed a bucket.
