Offer water testing

A well water testing program will be offered to Elkhart County residents in August. The program is sponsored by Heidelberg College, and the Elkhart County* branches of Farm Bureau, Health Department, Purdue Extension Service, and the Soil and Water Conservation District. There are five categories of tests being offered through this program at bargain prices. Those who live in rural areas may want to consider having the nitrate, triazine and alachlor tests, while those in urban or industrial settings may want to consider testing for volatile organic compounds and metals. Order forms for the test kits are available through August 16, at several locations around Elkhart and Goshen, including the Farm Bureau Insurance offices in Goshen and Elkhart, extension offices in Goshen and Elkhart, the environmental division of the health department in the public service building, Dunlap, and the Soil and Water Conservation District Office on the Elkhart County Fairgrounds.
