PIONEER DAYS—Fourth graders at Woodview Elementary School celebrated Pioneer Days, Friday, March 17. The day was filled with activities centering around the early settlers. Pictured top. front, from left: Corey Hepler, spelling bee winner, and Ashleigh Taylor, best dressed. Right: Alex Smith, spelling bee winner, and Jack Stutzman, best dressed. Middle: Lavere Rouch (left) and Tom Mattern, demonstrate how to set an animal trap. Both were guest speakers. Rouch brought a display of traps and furs, as visual aids to his presentation. Mattern shared his antique gun collection during his discussion with the students. Bottom: In the afternoon students gathered "ground the chuck wagon" to sing about legends and living as pioneers.
