►&A-NEE DONATES COMPUTER—Wa-Nee Community School Corporation and McDonald’s Restaurant have come together to serve scents. McDonald’s currently uses a McStudy Room outside of the rfeogaurant to provide student workers with a place, equipment and quiet to do their homework during their breaks. While the McStudy has been equipped with a typewriter, pencil sharpener and other ecsentials, restaurant owner Rick Purcell wanted to add yet another cjjljon—a computer. He approached Wa-Nee Schools, things pros«£sed, and the school system recently loaned McDonald’s a computer . Arrest minor wanted on warrants

Members -of the Nappanee Police Department were called to the area of Locke and Vanßuren Streets, October 8, to investigate a reckless driver. Officers found the vehicle as it pulled into a driveway. The operator, Dennis John Kurzhal, 19, 112 Meadows, Nappanee, was investigated and a check showed four warrants had been issued for his arrest from two counties. Through the investigation it was also discovered that the driver had been drinking and was only 19 years of age. Kurzhal was arrested on charges of being a minor consuming alcohol. He was taken to the Elkhart County Jail and held on a SSOO bond. Holds were also placed on the suspect for St. Joseph and Porter Counties. ILLEGAL CONSUMPTION .. Ptl. Darrell Hartzler was advised by a local security guard of a problem with several subjects, shortly after 4a.m., October 8. The subjects were located at the Burger Dairy store. After speaking to the suspects it was determined that one of the subjects was intoxicated and was not of age. Jarett O. Fisher, 18, 308 North Locke, Nappanee, was arrested for illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage. Fisher was released on a written promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in Nappanee City Court tonight (Wednesday). OWI Ptl. Darrell Hartzler was advised of a possible intoxicated driver in the area of the Burger Dairy convenience store, October 3. A vehicle matching the informant’s description was located leaving the Burger Dairy parking lot. The driver, James Deavers, Sr., 50,179 Meadows, Nappanee, was stopped after entering Meadows. Deavers was given a series of sobriety tests and failed. Afterwards he was taken to the Nappanee Police Department where he was given a chemical test for intoxication which he also failed. The local authorities transported Deavers to the Elkhart County Jail where he was held on a SI,OOO
