INDIANA TO ■CONSERVE THE VALUE OF PROPERTY AND TO THE END THAT ADEQUATE LIGHT. AIR. CONVENI ENCE OF ACCESS. AND SAFETY FROM FRE AND OTHER DANGERS MAY BE •SECURED; THAT CONGESTION IN THE . PUBLIC STREETS MAY BE LESSONED OR AVOIDED. AND THAT THE PUBLIC HEALTH. SAFETY, CONVE • NIENCE, COMFORT AND GENERAL WELFARE MAY BE PROMOTED IN A MANNER WHICH RECOG NIZED THE NEEDS OF FARMING. INDUSTRY, AND BUSINESS IN THE FUTURE GROWTH OF THE CITY AND WHICH WILL ENCOURAGE THE DEVE LOPMENT OF HEALTHY SURROUNDINGS FOR FAMILY IN RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS; ALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH A MASTER PLAN DESIGNED TO ASSURE EFFICIENCY AND ECONOMY IN THE PROCESS OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE CITY AND FOR THE PURPOSE OF 1. Classifying, regulating, ’ and limiting the height, area, bulk and use of buildings and premises hereafter to be erected; 2. Regulating and determining the area of front, rear and side yards and other open spaces about buildings, 3. Regulating and deter- _■ mining the use and intensity of use of land and lot areas. 4. Classifying, regulating, and restricting the location of trades, callings, industries, commercial enterprises, and the location of buildings designed for specified uses; •' 5. Dividing the City into districts of such kind, cnaracter, numnber, shape, and area as may be deemed necessary to carry out the purpose of this ordinance NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE -COMMON COUNCIL OF ’ THE CIVIL CITY OF NAPPANEE, INDIANA: Section 1. Section 2.02 of Ordinance No. 907 which section is titled "Words and - Phrases Defined" is hereby • amended to add the following I definition: "Town house. A townhouse .is a single-family dwelling unit constructed in a row of - attached units separated by ■ property lines and with open space on at least two sides" ' Section 2. Section 12.02 of ! Ordinance 907 which section is titled "Permitted Uses" and which related to R-2 Family Residential Districts is hereby amended to add subsection M. as follows: “M. Townhouses, individual dwelling units with a zero lot line consisting of a fire .separation wall as specified ’ per the Indiana Building Code. Walters Mayor Nap-July 13 20, 1994 ORDINANCE NO. 1190 AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE IDENTIFICATION BY STREET NUMERAL OF RESIDENCES AND CERTAIN OTHER STRUCTURES WITHIN THE CITY OF NAPPANEE WHEREAS, it is of utmost importance that members of the City’s Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Service Departments be able to promptly and easily identify street addresses in order to respond to emergency calls in the most expeditious manner possible; and WHEREAS, identification of street addresses can best be performed by each residence and structure possessing a designated street address having numerals representing its street number which are easily identifiable from the street. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CIVIL CITY OF NAPPANEE. INDIANA: Section 1. For purposes of this Ordinance, the term "residence" shall mean any residence located within the City of Nappanee. Indiana which has a street address which has been designated for receipt of mail or any other purpose. The term "resi-
