Chet Walters, Bradley Wilson, Amber Wolfe and Devon Yoder. Kids’ carnival Saturday A “Say No to Drugs Kids Carnival” will be held Saturday, April 23, 9-11:30a.m., at North Wood High School, 2101 N. Main St. (SRI9), Nappanee. This will be a morning filled with games and prizes, with die NorthWood High School SADD Club and the Wa-Nee Drug Awareness Committee co-hosting die second annual event All community elementary-age children are invited to test their skills at the bean bag toss and free throw hoops. In addition, face painting, snacks and balloons, as well as a cake walk, will be offered. The “Choose Brothers,” a Blues Brothers comedy duo, will perform shows at 9:45a.m. and 10:45a.m. They are favorites for kids of all ages, and travel throughout the United States, with their message to choose a drug-free lifestyle. The Elkhart County Sheriffs Cadets will provide fingerprinting of children, and McGruff, the crimefighting dog, will be there to visit with the children. In addition, the Wa-Nee drug-free mascot, “HUGS the Bear” will be present. You are invited to attend this informative, fun-filled morning.

Comp Fire offers doss Camp Fire will offer a class, “I’m Taking Care,” for fifth and sixth graders, at Heritage Medical Center, US6 East, Nappanee, Saturday, April 23, from 9a.m.-noon. The cost per person is $5, which includes .information booklet and certificate, plus supplies. Call 773-3793, or 533,-4590 to register. , The class teaches good babysitting skills through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and handson experiences. Participants wil learn basic skills, safety measures and ways to play with children.

The second annual “Say No to Drugs Kids Carnival" will take place Saturday, April 23,9-11:30a.m., at North Wood High School. Included in activities will be a bean bag toss and free throw hoops skills contest, as well as balloons, snacks, and appearances by HUGS the Bear and McGruff, the crime-fighting dog.
