Club notes AMERICAN LEGION The Third District of the American legion will hold its monthly meeting, Saturday, March 26,8p.m., at Charles Harker Post #143, Bristol (905 Maple St.). BETTER HOMES The Better Homes Club will meet Tuesday, March 29,7:30p.m., at the home of Laura Rummcl. Roll call will be answered by “Something unusual you collect or save.” The inspirational thought will be offered by Alberta Christophcl, and the lesson, on “Pampering Yourself,” by Nita Fredericks. TOPS 425 The Monday morning meeting of Nappanee Tops 425 was held at the First Church of God, with the leader, Lois Miller, presiding. Pledges were repeated, and the Tops Song sung. The secretary and treasurer offered their reports, and roll call was taken with 34 members weighing in, recording a total weight loss of 29-3/4 pounds. Two members stayed the same. Phyllis Lccpcr was the best loser for the week. The AIM captain, Alice Freed, presented several awards, and installed new officers. Secret pals will be revealed at next week’s meeting. Charlotte Martin and Mary Hochstctler are now Kops members. Alice Freed read two poems, honoring Kops.

Churches prepare for cantata An Easter Cantata entitled “Lest We Forget” will be presented on Sunday, March 27, at 2 p.m'., at the Bremen Church of the Brethren, located on South Montgomery Street. Featured will be the combined choirs of the Brethren and Salem United Methodist chtirches. The choir, under the direction of Jami Abbott, will consist of 50 voice* The cantata is centered around the Easter hymn “Lead Me to Calvary,” and recreates the momentous and moving events that occured during the last Passover week of the Lord’s earthly ministry. Special numbers will be presented by soloist David Sellers and a duct by Mary Grebe and Tom Hostetler. The congregation will join the choir for the benediction. The public is invited to attend.
