Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Lehman, 503 N. Clark St., Nappanee, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary, March 14, at Peddler's Restaurant, Goshen, with family members and extended families attending. Wilbur and Pearl Ganger were married March 12,1927, in Nappanee. They have three children: Paul, Union, Michigan; Mrs. Lewis (Marilyn) Hochstetler, Wakarusa, and Mrs. Robert (Arlene) Mast, Nappanee.

Seniors invited for activities, hot lunches

The following schedule of meals and activities for persons over age 60 has been announced by REAL Services, sponsors of the program. The Nappanee site, located at the Church of the Brethren, Mack Drive, is open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Activities at the site include table games and puzzles, a Tuesday Bible study, and other special activities as announced. Rotary report Flory Fleck, of the Main & Market Street project, was the speaker at last week’s meeting of the Nappanee Rotary Club. She was introduced by Richard Pletcher. Another guest was Jerry Rumple, of the Syracuse Rotary Club. Ray Schwartz introduced the newest member of the Nappanee club, the Rev. Janet McFall-Brown. The president, Bill Mills, announced that the goal of the WNIT phone-a-thon had been reached by the club members who worked the previous night. April 18 has been set for the Easter egg hunt. Denny Templeton is serving as chairman for this event. Rotary meets each Wednsday noon, at the B&B Restaurant. Visitors are always welcome. The latest class of underprivileged children are those whose parents own two cars-but no speedboat.

Announce engagements

Hock-Wollmann Announcement is made of the engagement of Meredyth Hock, Nappanee, and Dan Wollmann, Carpenter, South Dakota Meredyth is the daughter of Joanna Hoke, Nappanee, and the late Ralph Hoke. She graduated from International College, Ft. Wayne, with an associate degree in professional accounting. She is currently enrolled in nurse’s training at Bethel College, Mishawaka, and plans to graduate in May, 1993. Dan is the son of Sam and Mary Wollman, Carpenter. He holds a degree in business administration, and is presently engaged in farming. No date has been set for the wedding.

Club notes

TOPS 425 Nappanee Tops #425 met at the First Church of God Monday morning, with the leader, Ruth Manges, in charge. Pledges were repeated and the Tops song was sung. The secretary’s report was presented and roll called. A total of 28 members weighed in, recording a total loss of 19-3/4 pounds. Isabelle Deardorff was the best loser for the week. The chapter voted for Helping Hand, and the leader demonstrated, using a shamrock, a way to challenge the chapter to work harder at weight loss. Norma Hershberger was welcomed back from Florida. TRI KAPPA Tri Kappa Sorority held its 25th anniversary meeting March 10, with the group’s associate chapter joining the celebration. Many former presidents were honored in the ceremony, including Susie Pletcher, the original president, and founder of the local chapter. Thanks to Nancy Roedcr for hosting the celebration meeting. Thanks also to Janet Hoffer, Brenda Baumgartner and Deb Whetstone for cohosting the celebration. Next month’s meeting will be held April 14, at the home of Barb Abel in Nappanee.
