The prospective bridegroom, Man Flandermeyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Flandermeyer of 217 Logwood Dr., Evansville, is a 1987 graduate of Luther High School North in Chicago, Illinois, and a 1991 alumnus of Valparaiso University with a B.S. in accounting. Matt was a member of the the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and is presently employed by Arthur Andersen and Company, Chicago, Illinois, as public accountant. He presently resides in Schaumburg, Illinois. Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkhart, will be the setting for the couple’s June 27, wedding.
Registering kids for preschool story hour program Registration is now underway at the Nappanee Public Library for pre-school story hour, ages 3-5, and not yet in kindergarten. This winter the library is again offering a choice of either morning or afternoon story hour. The afternoon story hour will begin Tuesday, February 4, l-1:45p.m., and continue through March 11. Honeymoon cruise
Sue Hirstein and Kent Myers exchanged vows in front of approximately 275 guests attending the ceremony given by Rev. Dave Engbrecht and Rev. Dave Lamden, at the Nappanee Missionary Church, 61022 SRI9, Elkhart. Following the reception the couple embarked on a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas. Sue is the daughter of Larry and Betty Hirstein, 506 E. Broad Street, Nappanee, and Shirley and Steve Weber, 5005 Knollton Road, Indianapolis. Kent is the son of Ken and Karen Myers, 61022 SRI9, Elkhart. The bride’s costume was a fulllength, white, satin gown with a beaded high neck that matched the beading and sequins featured throughout the gown. She wore her mother-in-laws veil-a crown of pearls, and carried a bouquet of white, green and black roses, displaying her own greatgrandmother’s locket within the petals. Attending the bride were matron of honor Pam Peter, and bridesmaids Tena Haney, Angie Schrock, and Steph Comer. They wore tea-length,

Decorating the church were candelabras with green, black and white bows, as well as white bows on the pews. Steph Comer bestowed her gift of song with “Love In Any Language,” as did Jolynn Hunsbergcr, with “Friends,” and the “Parents’ Prayer.” Ron and Kay Homes hosted the wedding reception that followed. The former Ms. Hirstein is a 1988 graduate of North Wood High School and is employed by Creative Dimensions. Seniors invited for activities , hot lunches
The following schedule of meals and activites for persons over age 60 has been announced by REAL Services, sponsors of the program. The Nappanee site, located at the Church of the Brethren, Mack Drive, is open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Activities at the site include table games and puzzles, a Tuesday Bible study, and other special activities as announced. Please call the site one day in advance, 773-2228, to make reservations for the meals. There is no set charge - each person is asked to pay just what he feels he can afford. Thursday, January 9—cranberry juice cocktail, herbed bakedchicken quarter, mashed potatoes with gravy, spinach with vinegar on the side, whole wheat bread with margarine, mixed fruit, milk, tea and coffee. All senior members of the Nappanee community are invited to become active in the programs of Nappanee’s Elder Haus, a senior center, located at 258 E. Market Sl The center is open Monday through Friday for a wide variety of regular activities and special programs. If you have questions, you may call the center at 773-2424. A newsletter is mailed monthly. Ask to have your name placed on the mailing list. Crafts, games and of course, fellowship are offered on Mondays; euchre and bridge on Tuesdays beginning at Ipm; cards and games on Thursday afternoons; and crafts, quilting and visiting all day on Friday. LEGION AUXILIARY The January 13 meeting of the Nappanee American Legion Auxiliary will include a tour of the new Nappanee Emergency Medical Services facilities. Isabelle Dcardorff will present EMS Director Mike Stull with a certificate of appreciation for the service his department provides to Nappanee. Auxiliary members will meet at the American Legion Post at 7:30p.m., before touring the new facilities. HOME ECHOES Members of the Nappanee Home Echoes club will meet in the home of Madlin Culp, Thursday, January 9, 9a.m.. Roll call will include sharing a personal goal for 1992. Wilma Snider will give the county lesson on “Dealing With Daily Stress.” Officers will be elected and members should bring “Coins for Friendship.” The 1992-93 program planning will be completed. TOPS Tops 1N425 met Monday morning, December 30, at the First Church of God, with 22 members weighing in. A total loss of 22 pounds was found, with one member staying the same. Helen Newcomer sat in as leader for this week. A letter was read from coordinator Susie Hamlin, some rules were changed. Members will reveal their “Secret Pals” at the January 6, meeting.
